WHAT IS IT LIKE TO DRIVE A CLASS A MOTORHOME? Slow and steady is the name of the game! It is a must to have a great travel partner on the team with you to reduce the stress of running into things along the way. Come along with us we leave the Nugget RV Resort in St. Regis Montana and head to Montana's Pine Meadow RV Retreat in Bigfork Montana. It was a short 109 mile trip with plenty of great scenery along the way. We stop at a T/A diesel truck stop along the way to fuel up.

Glad you like them Michael! A lot of folks only want how to videos,............but I don't know how to do that many things! And I am only going to review the handful of awesome products I think folks need to know about from a trusted source. I turn down a couple endorsement offers a week. I value each and every viewer enough that I will not do reviews on trivial stuff.

Hi Mark and Sue, I have been watching you guys for a while now. Getting ready to get back into rv life. I am selling my house witch I am lucky it's all paid for. I will be able to pay cash for a good class A.. Have not been in the drivers seat in almost 20 years. I lost mom and dad mom just a few years ago. I miss them always. Just me and my dog Blue he is a blue merle chihuahua 2 years old. I'm hoping I can get him as good as Sue as my right hand helper. I am in Virginia not much here where I am. So I figured it's time to Travel again. Mark you are very well spoken and knowledgeable on every aspect of RV life style and fixes and gadgets. Great stuff you share. You both have given me the grace to give this a go again. Thank you both for your long and many hours you put into giving others a part of your Journey In Myles. God bless you both and yours..... JJ

Seems like most entrances and roads of these campgrounds were designed in the 60s or for tent trailers. Even in the 70's they had 34' trailers and larger class A's. I just figured out what Ojim name origin is. Like last week I figured out who the brit assistant was in the movie "The Accountant" after watching it 5 times. Light bulb above head time.

I love watching you guys navigate Class A. We were not new to RVing; we had a 34ft Fifth-wheel. However, driving is very different than a motorhome. We purchased a 39ft and we have some of the same issues that you are talking about in your video. We are still learning to drive as well. How do you guys do with the wind? We went to Utah at the end of March and the wind was so crazy we had to stop and rest. We had to divert our travels and stay in Las Vegas for 3 weeks and then go through Needles CA to get back east where we live. We also messed up our slide in a campground in Needles CA. We should have scoped the site out like you and Sue. 1500 miles later with a broken slide we were able to get back home. The lesson learned is always to look at the spot and don't park near any limbs.

Great example of the inborn interstate rivalry between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Us Minnesotans have to take victories where we can. Since we cannot win a Super Bowl, unlike The Packers, we will take beating someone from Wisconsin to a campground as a great victory. Go Minnesota!

I am speechless. Pat & Paul traveled from western MN to be with us again in the Mount Rushmore area. They are continuing to beat us in everything we do. They are always on time. They never take naps. They ride twice as fast as us on the ebikes and travel 3 times as far. They do two or three tourist things PER DAY. And Pat is always making me Banana Bread. I say WI needs more Minnesotans per capita.

Another great video… you always seem to come up with an interesting and entertaining storyline. One quick question- why do you always use the walk-in talkies instead of your cell phones? I went got a set of Motorola’s as well but we just use our phones.
@OurJourneyInMyles
@OurJourneyInMyles 3 жыл бұрын
Good question! We initially thought the phone signals in campgrounds would be too unreliable. Except for a handful of places, this was not true. We DO need our phones many times to record what we are doing for the channel, so the walkie-talkies became the standard. We are in Hill City SD now, and our signal in probably the worse it has ever been. It would be tough to use them here. For most folks, the phones are probably the way to go.

@@OurJourneyInMyles - Cell phones do not work in many of the off-grid dispersed sites and National Forest CG’s we frequent. So the high powered GMRS hand-held radios we keep handy for caravanning in the Jeep come in handy. You can get a pair for about $60 at Amazon and they’re are much clearer with better range than old style walkie-talkies.

Traveling since June 2017, I can count on both hands the times we ground down to 45 mph,..........and only a few at 37mph. I of course would LOVE the 605 motor, but our budget would not allow it! We only tow a 4500 lb mini-van. If we were trying to haul the 10k lbs. the Newmar spec sheet says is allowed, THAT would be tough. With the Spartan Frame, they say you can haul 15,000 lbs! Yikes! I would say for almost everyone out there, the 450 hp, 1250 ft-lb torque, 8.9 liter Cummins is the right blend of cost, mileage and performance. Sue & I love Newells. Good luck with the new mansion!

If we disconnected and drove through a mountain pass with our tow vehicle disconnected, I would expect we would have a speed increase,..........it's not like the engine would last any longer. A diesel loves to be lugged down and loaded up. We look forward too and relish traveling together in the cab and looking at and talking about the scenery as things pass by,........ We slow down to 37 MPH only in the really long 6 & 7 percent grades. Most long mountain grades I can maintain 45 or 50.

When Sue flew to WI to be with her mother for 2 weeks, our schedule had to be compressed. We had planned a few one week stays along the way from Gig Harbor WA to Bigfork, MT. They ended up being one night stops. The one night stay at The Nugget RV Park in Regis MT was nice,........but we used it just as parking spot for us to plug into 50 amp service. Lost Comma is correct. Each video takes 1.5 hours per minute you see on screen to produce. We produce only a fraction of the stuff we film. Sometime a stay in one spot will give us multiple episodes. (Glacier has 4 videos.) We are in Hill City SD now, and have no time to produced any videos for the next 3 weeks, so we worked 120 hours ahead while in Buffalo and Rozet Wyoming.
