Hello. I found your video after wondering about Winooski tonight. I have never been there, but a family who was friends with my family moved to Vermont from New Orleans in the late 1960s. There were mum, dad, and four sons. They opened a Catholic bookstore there that I believe was a success. I do not recall what it was called. Do you remember it? I am sure they went to the Catholic Church you mentioned in your video. The dad passed in (I believe 1988), and the mum passed aged 101 in 2022. I only wish I had tried to find them sooner than I did. I would have loved to touch base with her. She was a lovely, kind lady. Guess I am feeling nostalgic tonight.... Maybe someday I will visit Winooski.

Hello! I grew up in Winooski but I don't recall the catholic book store, was it located near St. Francis Church? You should definitely come for a visit and check out the Winooski historical society museum!

@@YourVTRealEstateAccelerator I do not recall where it was located. That was way back in the late 1960s through early 1970s that I was still in touch with the family. I found out not very long ago that dad sadly passed in 2007. Mum sadly passed age 101 in 2022. They had four sons. I have tried to contact two of the sons to no avail, so I guess the sons never kept the bookstore going. Mum and dad are buried at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. I am sure they must have attended St. Francis Church. They were pretty devout Catholics. The sons would now be seniors, too, so it is possible one or more of them has passed.

No i,t’s the drug capital of Vermont, I know I live here too. People are rude they will rob you. Every drug addict knows where to go to get their drugs, trust me. I’m sorry lady that I disagree with you. I have lived here for 25 years. When I first got I could not believe how many people didn’t work. I moved from Boston where every person I ever met or knew worked. When i met people everyone of them didn’t have a job I was shocked. I’m disabled and I worked my whole life, I even got a job when I moved up here. I’m sorry to run Winooski down but it’s the truth. The people are not nice at all. If you were to get hit by a car the people would walk right over you. I was at a gas station in the middle of winter, it was 19 degrees out I was taking my stepdaughter home and my battery died, all I needed was a jump . I ask everyone I saw and not one person would help me. Now mind you I’m standing there with my arm crutches and a five yr. Old freezing our asses off and not one person help us . Finally someone I knew personally came in the gas station and helped us. He wasn’t surprised that I didn’t get help. I can go on . This time I’m in Belvedere Vt. 3,300 ft above sea level in the cold hollow mountains. My car broke down, I’m on the side of the road with my crutches ( I had a spinal cord injury) anyway, I stood there waving down anyone that went by for help. I’m in the middle of nowhere a car would go by maybe every 1/2 hr. So finally I took out a 10 dollar bill a waved that the next thing you know someone stopped. I only needed a ride about 1 mile from where I was . But I’m up way in the mountains, no cell service and I’m on crutches. So there you have it, the truth about Vermont. I’m moving I can’t stand it here anymore. Do yourself a favor don’t come here, plus it’s so expensive.
