This multimedia documentary captures the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Force Reconnaissance Platoon's deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility aboard the USS Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group from March through November 2013. The 26th MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force in which forward-deploys serving as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations. In my opinion force recon is tier 3 like seal team 8 or at most a green beret but marsoc in my opinion is like an under rated delta force marsoc has the tactics of a tier 1 operation Force it’s just that there under rated

It's probably tier two because tier three is closer to conventional forces. Also delta force and mars of are two different things. Green berets are better than you think too, they can do anything from training rebel forces, to going on raids from water, air, or land. They are some of the best.

ODA is still the U. S. Military's prime special forces unit. They get a much much higher volume of work. They also have there own teir 1 platoons/teams. They are the lead in unconventional Warfare. When Mardi first came around in 06 08 the first teams were sent to the middle east to be educated on counter insurgency and gorilla Warfare by Green berets. Not delta and not seals. Delta and devgru focus mainly on high value targets, all seal teams do really and hostage rescue. Where as green berets and now little broth Marine raiders focus affecting the greater picture of a conflict. Green berets literally operate in every element of unconventional warfare. There mission set discretion is very vast. Force recon are like 75th ranger Larp but with water combat in there resume. Green berets and raiders are similar in tempo and have greater affect during war they are not glorified bounty hunters they masters of war and know how manipulate the battle field.

Kaiser Tuumalo Training is similar... and MARSOC Raiders definitely DO work with SEAL's but they still are not SEAL's. Once I Marine, Always a Marine. Semper Fi Warriors.. May God Bless you men and women

WRONG< RECON out runs, out swims & out trains any squid. RECON missions are unknown and unadvertised, unlike the show boats called SEALs. In my time they were called UDT/SEALs which i trained with (and have the certificates/orders to prove it), when they finished their day we continued on. They do good, RECON does great. They want a job done, call in the SEALs, they want it done well, quiet and unknown, they all call on RECON!

Jcream101 definitely not especially with the budget DEVGRU or CAG has. Marine raider is more comparable with DEVGRU/Delta/Air Force Special tactics although it has a long way to go to earn their seats in the tier 1 community. Independent research claims they have tier 1 capability but formally they are still tier 2.

Late comment. Force Recon have been doing every SEALs do now before SEALs were even a thing.

@@whatever9042 nah, seals is for the socom and recon is for the Corp. The Corp is not giving up their specialized infantry for their needs, nothing about ego lol.

@@whatever9042 from my understanding and honestly, there's a lot to say about marsoc. Many call it the red headed child of Socom. That said, they are basically just a marine element to socom and nothing more. Does almost everything rangers to seals and green berets can do. Like all socom units, they're great.
