The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice there is nothing we can do to change until we notice how failing to noticeshapes our thoughts and deeds

That was very well explained, but alas I did lose attention after about 30 seconds. My potential for mindfulness does not appear to be innate at any rate!

It's all about momentum. Your momentum of 'non-attention' has been going on for years or decades. Your moment of 'attention' was practiced for 30secs. Which is a great start in all honesty. Practice your attention with mindfulness and meditation. With time, your 'attention' momentum will be sufficient to live fully beautiful moments, and fully experience and overcome life's challenges. good luck my friend :)

The phenomenal world (object of awareness) dissolves back in to our being (pure consciousness) when we go in to deep sleep uncontaminated by dreams. This confirms that body, mind, intellect, ego, etc are redundant and we exist as pure consciousness. That is our ground state.... the home. The phenomenal world is just a dream.

XXX Thought is Precious XXX Thinking in it’s most part is Behavioral Activity. Behavioral Activity can be programmed. Using language as a mind software we permanently are repeating our desired goals through spoken words, just like a mantra. This way we are establishing a specific pattern of information and literally downloading as well as programming the subconscious mind, which in response will trigger the programmed action. Our subconscious mind works like a computer. It turns commands..

I think the final goal of mindfulness is to reach state of pure consciousness uncontaminated by object and subject of awareness. This happens when you are 100% paying attention at the object of awareness. In that moment, both subject and object shall get coalesced / disappear totally. The mind gets totally consumed and dissolved. What remains is what you are......Sat - Chit - Ananda.

@frauzebra I think the principles of proper driving is kind of a good example of mindfulness-- but a lot of people daydream while driving// I don't think it's the same thing, but yeah, mindfulness is kinda like driving.

Well, I guess that if you allocate your full attention/thoughts to your driving, it is some kind of mindful experience.

I have a question for anyone who can answer me ! would driving a car be mindfulness ? what would be the difference between meditation or mindfulness and driving ? thank you
@eriklokensgard74874 жыл бұрын
7 years later: Yes, I think you could drive a car practicing mindfulness. In fact, in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), this is a recommended practice if you already are driving somewhere. What do you think?

is it possible to "pay attention" by accident?

The greatest challenge is...Does one want to pay attention? I do!
