What Does Reactive Power Mean?
In electrical grid systems, reactive power is the power that flows back from a destination toward the grid in an alternating current scenario.
In a direct current system, the voltage and load is static, and to put it simply, the direction of energy is "one way," but in alternating current, there are different phases having to do with elements of the system like capacitors and inductors.
Reactive power gets energy moving back into the grid during the passive phases.
Reactive power is also known as: phantom power.
What is Power factor ?
Power factor (PF) is the ratio of working power, measured in kilowatts (kW), to apparent power, measured in kilovolt amperes (kVA). ... It is found by multiplying (kVA = V x A). The result is expressed as kVA units. PF expresses the ratio of true power used in a circuit to the apparent power delivered to the circuit.

On the contrary sir, his last sentence is the truth & true, only solution for this problem is APFC, industries r already equipped w this since at least 3-4decades as I remember by compulsions from grid co. Now is the time for commercial establishments, grid co is not going to help or tell u abt this, they r anyway started charging on kva & not kw so it's upto consumer to get up.

Max u cud hv said 50A reactive component, & that is required to be fed by grid co. (Though not consumed) But actually created a i2r loss in the form of heat waste etc. Need to be transmitted till load end, & since it is not available for any other purpose, it is called aa consumed! Actually it goes to workdn, 1 can say loss but analogy is friction: friction is a friend & foe, without friction of tyre w road we can't move & while moving we hv to overcome the friction! Similarly, wout reactive power we can't move the rotating machines but that itself is a loss, In loss calculations say eg pump, apart from viscosity density pipe material etc etc this reactive power component also shud be taken into account.

He is playing ipl or what? I cud c qualitative praisers to this speaker, actually he is pulling sixers: 100kw load 50A current? Can anybody explain what is this means?

U said inverter generates reactive power & feeds so that reactive power component of load reduces & nxt statement u made, active power is also reduces! Who wants less production of active power? U r completely confusing, u hv touched very nice subject but hv made mess of it. U go & learn these things thoroughly for bright future of this country. Authentic credible honest truth

Power factor doesn't increases, load is not a culprit to act like this wout any other reason, it's power factor is what it is at a moment. What happens is 100kw total load, 0.9 pf, now solar iz giving 60kw, only 40kw is from grid but it shows clear cut lower power factor & hence it is considered as fed by grid

Generator generates power because of reactive power is false sentence, just because generator has winding, doesnt mean it's a reactive component, it's a source of energy, this false notion can be taken as : actually if so, if what u r saying is true truth then this generator winding shud help air assists reactive load ! As response reaction! But it doesn't happens that way, understand the Funda, & if u don't know, then say so, or just don't mention anything like this, or get knowledge, learn. Reactive power requiment is a response of a connected load & not a supply. Show me a reactive component at generator end not connected to load.
