I am for sure not as big of an expert as Richman, Hurd or Sprague, but Shaedon gives me Vince Carter vibes more than Kobe.

The great thing about Shaedon’s role is that he’s needed to learn to play as a role player in order to learn minutes. If and when he becomes a star, we won’t have the same questions with him playing alongside other great players that we do with Doncic playing with Kyrie. He can be elite without the ball in his hands, and he can take the challenge of guarding the best player on the opposing team if that’s what we need from him. All the makings of a future well-rounded superstar

Lamar is right. A lot depends of Shaedon's success will depend on how dedicated he is on constantly improving and expanding his game.

Potentially...he is a cross between Clyde Drexler and Damian Lillard. Whether he reaches that potential is an entirely different matter

He’s basically a high school prospect (experience wise) who’s keeping despite his inexperience. He doesn’t play like him but that sounds like Kobe. Top 5 SG when he matures

The question is, what is the Portland Trailblazer’s ceiling with Shaedon Sharpe? The Lillard dominant-snails paced coaching style and scheme of Billups doesn’t match Sharpe’s abilities and will delay his development. In ‘88, HC Mike Schuler ran his scheme and coaching style through Kiki Vandeweigh even after Clyde Drexler and his full-throttle, high-flying play broke out and dominated, probably after being delayed for two years and Drexler saying he had enough of it, he was ready to be the Go-To scorer in ‘86. Sharpe and Drexler both had a silky-smooth shooting touch. Sharpe needs to develop his handle and get aggressive, but as a backup off the bench with limited minutes under Billups, his potential will be subdued. Get a coach in that will put the offense into high-gear @120 PPG, and get more scoring opportunities for more than just Lillard, and the whole team will blossom into a juggernaut.

Inside the arc he scores efficiently. He's 3pt shooting has fallen back to earth as has his TS%. His footwork and balance are just too noisy on those catch and shoots. Disappointing, was hoping to see that really shine. But its not all bad on offense, he's getting to the rack off the bounce nicely. Defensively he's not as bad as the rest of the team. He's #2 in steals without starter minutes and also #2 in deflections as well iirc. He was actually one of the league leaders in deflections at one point top-20 I think for his time he's played with the Blazers. You can't be a bad defender and be in that list. Plenty of coaches use that metric as a way of showing evidence of defensive performance since its a bit more reliable than others.
