I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea 4 years ago, my consultant said I was the worst case she’d seen in 30 yrs. I stop breathing 105 times an hour! I was surviving on 2 hrs of BROKEN sleep a night , I was like the walking dead! I work 5 days a week as well as caring for my disabled child as a single mum. I didn’t know what it was like not to feel tired. I’d been like this pretty much all my life. I was born prematurely and have a very narrow windpipe. I have a CPAP machine now and it has completely changed my life! I am awake from 06:30 until 23:30 every day and I NEVER need to nap anymore! Life is 100% better! If you have the symptoms of sleep apnea, I urge you to seek help…it WILL change your life!

I come from a family of sleep apnea sufferers, and started to choke in my sleep in my mid-40s. I did research and discovered that being over weight and high blood sugar levels cause breathing difficulties during sleep. I was able to cure my sleep apnea through dieting and exercise. I stopped eating all refined foods, sugar and alcohol. After eating a strict whole natural food diet and daily walking within only 3 months my weight returned to normal, I stopped snoring and no longer have sleep apnea.

@Lionforaday
@Lionforaday 2 жыл бұрын
@@NA-se9fr you typically will not be aware of waking in the night - which, with apnea, can happen hundreds of times a night. It's actually less-typical for people to wake "gasping and choking" and more common for them to only know bc someone else has observed it - and it's not subtle.

We're so careful, the way we walk around the issue of obesity. The physician in the video does mention it - however, be sort-of breezes by it. This young woman is carrying significant extra weight - and that's good news in the sense that her sleep apnea *may* resolve if she's able to lose weight. Ironically, it can be harder to lose weight with untreated apnea - so even if you hate using CPAP, you may want to use it temporarily while actively trying to lose weight. The ultimate goal would be that you're no longer struggling with obesity OR with apnea; and if that happens, you can happily kick your CPAP to the curb.
