people have tried it before. from what I've heard the minor imperfections that we don't even notice on an animal is super apparent on people since we're so good at noticing those details on each other, especially if it's someone you've met in real life. there's also some legal issues abt owning a deceased person's body.

we really can't, since taxidermy is usually skin put onto a model, every person is different so it wouldt be easy to make a model to put the skin on

@@jacobkuechenmeister9350 its also very hard to preserve the color of skin, as it will turn yellow. Other animals without much fur, feathers, or scales like pigs also show this in taxidermy. (Which is why boars are often chosen over regular pigs)

I have a white squirrel that I found on a golf cart ride in my neighborhood. I would not kill one because they are fairly rare but here there are a few . When I found this guy I thought you gotta have it mounted . Let me know if you would like to do it I think people would like it let me know if you can and we will see what we can work out .

Curiosity: Dr Seuss created paper mache figures made also with horns of dead animals called "Unorthodox Taxidermy" that he picked Dr Seuss designed animals and make a fake taxidermy, today the figures are in museums, and my favorite one is "Goo Goo eyed Tasmanian wolghast"

My cousins started taxidermy in HS, because their dad did it as a hobby. A family of taxidermist is kinda cool, but it is unsettling to walk into a room and see multiple animals in half disassembled states.

It is legal to hunt them! But it is state specific. California for example, they’re illegal to hunt. Utah, they’re huntable, and they actually taste great!

The animal is skinned and put on a manikin, whilst some people do make stuffed taxidermy kind of like a plushie, usually salt is used to desolve the meat so it doesn’t rot.

That is how you do it… hunters kill an animal, take the meat, skin it, and take the skin to a taxidermist to get a mount done. I don’t know where you got the idea that these are just already dead animals. 😂.

I'll be completely honest. i have no idea how i feel about this. Like i get if its just for study purposes, but i also know that some people hunt and kill deer (among other animals) and hang them on their walls as decor. Some people dont hunt them but still have them as decor, and i hate that. It's not because it's tacky (it is, but that's not the point). i just feel we shouldn't be using dead bodies as decorations. Just imagine hanging some random person's head on your wall. it's really weird. Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

I understand your point, but The original meaning for taxidermy was just to give an animal who died of natural causes (not Hunting) a second chance in life, even if they are truly not here anymore. Edit: I like the original meaning better and I only purchase ethical ones.

No she does not do pets😂 she gets orders form people who hunted the animal and she makes them for decor but the meat is not wasted.

They can be donated from zoos, natural causes or hunting ( I prefer all of them as long as the hunting is ethical)
