Unfortunately you missed most of the highlights of this car. It’s FWD versus AWD to keep it lightweight and this cars handling is it’s key ingredient to it’s incredibly fast lap times. While you actually were hoping for some torque steer, Honda went to great engineering lengths to come up with a solution to eliminate it, and it’s dual axis front suspension is the solution. Having a cars power pull it from it’s intended path of direction is never really desirable so eliminating torque steer is important to most driving enthusiasts. That gearbox btw has been praised as one of the best manuals ever, and as I own a 992 GT3 with an incredible manual transmission, I agree that the Type R’s is definitely in the same league. And lastly, the rear spoiler on the car does help it produce actual downforce and is not just a styling trinket as you insinuated it to be. The Civic Type R is literally one of the only cars that I can think of in modern history that has pretty much been over MSRP every single year since it came out in 2017. To me that shows that car enthusiasts appreciate what it is and offers and they see value in what it provides

The spoiler is for downforce. The car has a max speed of 170mph and is a track weapon. It produces real downforce.

I know it must seem like a toy to you and nothing more. But that little toy would smoke the crap out of your AMG on most any track with more than 4 turns. By a large margin too. Look up the numbers. Not saying it's a better car, but if you want an affordable, reliable and low cost of ownership sports car that can run with cars 2 -4 times the price, then it's a great value. You're right about the Mustang being a completely different level of vehicle. The Honda is easily level or two more advanced.

If you do a little research, you'll find out that the Civic Type R is faster around the Nurburging than any car you have ever owned. Keep up the good work though!

I just purchased the Integra type s and absolutely love it. The driving experience makes up for the lack of some features at the price. I was going to get a m340i but found the Integra type s to be the better drivers car

I love the type R and your the man for doing this video love it but I’ll be honest the previous Gen was better it was conceived immaculately 💯

I have a 2024 Type R in Sonic grey Pearl and absolutely love it. Btw it appears you didn’t have it in +R mode. It has adaptive suspension so you again adjust the ride also open the exhaust valves and also change steering feelUnless it was individual mode were you can set all those options to your preference so hard to say what mode it’s in. Edit: I just saw you found it now 😆

It's purpose built for the track, not the straight line. That's why it's FWD as well, some rumors about them coming with a AWD version. Rear wing helped breaking records around tracks. Great video though, but you went into it with the wrong mindset, kind of.
