This video is quite brief when explaining things, and sometimes fairly inaccurate. Duran: his best qualities are healing for light and sabers for Dark. Edelfrei is by far his best class since it gives him the elemental sabers, to wreck bosses Kevin: he is great in both paths. Unlike the original game, Poto Oils aren't fast and enemeis cannot counterattack! This works for Light Kevin as he can use Spin Kick for dealing with many enemeis at once, and use Multiheal as Warrior Monk if you don't have Charlotte. Then again if you can deal with just Poto Oils or have Charlotte, Fatal Fist is the way to go. Hawkeye; you talked about debuffs and ignored Ninja Master. Ninja Master can hit multiple spots of a boss, making more damage and debuffing more. Ninja Master + Star Lancer + Angela is one broken combo. Riesz: nothing to argue here, Star Lancer is amazing. Charlotte: Sage offers good DPS with Lucent Beam. And Necromancer isn't about damage, it's about Dark Curse, A.K.A the best debuffing skill in the game. Angela: Dark isn't about single target damage. Ancient Curse, the Magus only spell, is an AOE spell. However it's really, really slow which makes it impratical against trash mobs who will attack you and dodgy bosses. Grand Diviner's Chaincasting with Lucent Beam+ is better than Ancient, Doppleganger and Glitter Dust. Let's not forget that Grand Diviner has a really good MP regeneration, you can cast without worrying. Rune Seer is another good option that clears nearly every mob in the game with Stone Cloud and inflicts good damage to bosses thanks to level 3 spell, like Blaze Wall.

So given both this video and your previous video about team comps, what would be the best builds for each character's abilities?

I find Light/Light Kevin path to be the best postgame class ("soloed" Dark Rabbite at level 75 since you can very easily spam CS'es), used Light/Dark to get to postgame. Light Path gets access to Pressure Point and this buff alone pretty much makes him rival Dark path damage. And the AoE class strike Monk gets is amazing.

If you have the necessary item already can you change between class 3 classes of the same type or do you have to reset the character? For exemple can you change Duran in Eldefrei class to the the Duelist class using duelist tag?

SD3 veteran here (old game), my best team I ever had that makes game super easy, was Rieze starlancer (meteorite), Duran (Sabre buffs), and Kevin as DPS (dark path)

If I had to choose 1 class for each character, it would be, Edelfrei, Grand Diviner, Fatal Fists, Ninja Master, Necromancer and Star Lancer. I think these are the best overall, but ultimately it will depend on your party composition.

Well for start its a good idea to have a healer. (so you dont have to spam healing items all the time due to stupid ai) After you finish game for 1.st time and get 300 more xp skill, you can start another game with new lvl 1 characters and you should hit 99 just before final boss in game (bonus one) without cleaning mobs to much. Just be sure you save some ??? seeds so you can re-class to second class as soon as you hit 38.

kevin's an OP character, he's strong regardless of what you choose. Personally, i chose him as a monk. He can not only dish out massive amounts of damage, but can full heal the entire party.

Angela's Grand Diviner is absolute beast. Lucent Beam is definitely better than Magus Ancient Curse due to the fact that it has really quick cast time. You can probably cast 3x Lucent beams+ by the time Ancient curse starts to rain down on the enemies. Ancient Curse is very strong but definitely not stronger than 3x Lucent Beams+ and the flexibility to move around more freely.

Angela light light full crit, damage. Charlotte dark dark full debuffs/support, duran dark dark debuff support. Crit kevin buffs class seed, reisz all party magic buff class seed,sahagin magic chip, crit oil, eyes debuff can kill Anise hard mode in less than 20 seconds.

Light side kevin gets an aoe attack from the start. Aoe is good for mobing, and you do a lot of mobing in this game. As others also have said it still then depends on your party composition. If you need x or y in your party composition then it's better to change that party composition.

Super debatable

Magus Angela + Black Rabbite Ability = Unlimited Ancient Curse. Pretty much as close as the game has to an "I Win" button.

Duelist is actually a pretty bad class for Duran. Edelfrei is significantly better due to its party cast of Saber Magic and access to Moon and Leaf Saber that can restore HP and MP respectively. Duelist only gives him Dark Saber, and not very many monsters are weak to dark magic. His outfit is definitely better with Duelist though. XD

For Angela the single target route also gives buffs against bosses by I believe 20% more damage. The aoe route gives buffs against normal mobs, so there is that to consider too.

kevin always on my team (light light) or (dark dark)

I would argue that enlightenment Kevin is better than fatal fist because when I play him, my HP rarely goes below 30% and even when he does my other members heal him immediately. Plus you're invincible at the start of the battle which is helpful in the Experience department since you get bonus EXP for taking no damage. I also prefer fire over lighting, but that's just my taste.

my coposition was Kevin(annahilator path) physical damage, Angela(mystic queen path) magic damage and Riezs(meteorite path) buffs. playing on hard. well theres tons of healing item anyway.

1:12 no mention of pressure point as a light monk? I used that with Kevin to make him know *hokuto shinken*, and finally have someone who can use stamina for a good move, so that'd be a point to go light. Don't speak in absolutes ;) spirit for healing as well as quicker class strike absorption for bosses with mobs. 2:48 Charlotte can heal party regardless of light/dark. That's why strict healer is useless, as it's like icing (which you said 2:56 ), let alone Kevin and Duran (lol Kevin Durant) can do that if you go light too, should you need an mp bank.

First party : Kevin warrior monk ( damage+healing , his last combo is killer) riez Fenrir knight ( cool outfit+summon) Angela Magus( massive non elemental damage further enhanced by party hp drain ability) very good party especially when you get tier 3 classes . Current party : Duran as liege ( good damage , tanking with provoke and decent healing ) ,Hawkeye as ninja master ( his magic skills are not that impressive , I should turn him to light for more damage) and Angela as light /light( not that impressive also , I prefer her as Magus )

Hawkeye following the rogue route was doing 5-8k AOE damage per pumpkin bomb at basically zero mp cost with my build. Nothing else quite touched that one for me.

Edelfrei, Magus, Light Angela, Warlock(necro to a lesser extent depending on team), Sage, Divine Fist, Enlightened, Nomad, Dark Hawk, Star Lancer. This are the best overall. You didn't put much thought into this video... Liege is amazing for Magus and that's it.

On my 1st run I made Angela a Mysticist and then a Rune Seer. On my 2nd run I made her a Sorceress and then a Grand Diviner. My conclusion is this: Oh boy I was so damn wrong to think her Dark side was better because it's not. Mysticist is so bad for the middle game, Sorceress is two times or even three times better. Being stuck with only lv1 spells si not a good thing. Sure you get Dark Force but Lucent Beam is more useful because there's a lot more ennemies that are weak to light compared to those who are weak to Dark, plus having lv2 spells that are strong and fast really help a lot for this part of the game. The more you go to endgame, the more you'll use Light spells. Then okay Rune Seer has lv3 spells that can inflict status and has the Death spell that OKO any mob under the level of Angela(also bypassing shields). But Rune Seer has too much problems. Lv3 spells cost too much, are single target and cast time is too slow, you can get interrupted really easily. And some mobs are immune to the Death spell(not many but still). Grand Diviner has lv2 aoe spells that cost less mp and cast time is really quick. By the time you've cast Stone Cloud for example, you've cast two Earthquakes(which means 200+200=400 against 350). Plus Grand Diviner is way better than Rune Seer at managing mp.

Easy. Duran: Edelfrei Angela: Grand Diviner Kevin: Fatal Fist Charlotte: high cleric Hawkeye: Rogue Riesz: Starlancer It saddens me that Edelfrei is Durans only really useful class. Paladin would be an amazing tank. In fact, it is. But its too good for this game. Nothing in the game challenges the Paladins survivability. Trials of Mana heavily favors damage focused builds over defensive ones. Duelist is fine, except why the hell would you ever pick duelist? Edelfrei gets all its amazing saber abilities and buffs and Duelist gets.. dark saber. Barely a handful of enemies in the game are weak to dark. Duelist isnt even noticably stronger than Edelfrei or anything, especially once Edelfreis skills are applied. It has a cool skull hat but thats about it. Grand Diviner, in most situations, slightly outclasses Magus. Both Doppelganger and Ancient Curse arent worth the casting time, ancient curse bearing the exception that it can nuke the 3 or 4 very large bosses that have multiple targets, yet that can still be outclassed by taking advantage of weaknesses using Grand Diviner. A similar situation to Paladin, it is a nice bonus, but not something that is at all needed or provides a lasting advantage. Kevins Fatal Fist class absolutely wrecks everything with raised crit chance combined with saber magic or a buffing partner. He punches and hits hard. And Fatal Fist plays into that the best. Boy, does he hit hard as Fatal Fist. Riesz' only very good class is starlancer. Unlike Fenrir Knight or Dragon Master, her buffing abilities arent easily replaced using items. On top of that her buffs last the entire duration of a battle. Combine her buffs with enemy debuffing items and your Kevin or Angela will melt anything. Riesz other classes dont manage to climb beyond c tier. Hawkeyes Nightblade and Nomad are, unfortunately, completely useless and outclassed by others who fulfill similar roles. Rogue with Grumpkin is very solid and strong, although that is all it has going for it and Ninja Master is great in a magic dominant party, paired with Angela, able to soften enemies up for Angela to nuke. Hawkeye is much more of a caster with alright physical attack than he is a physical fighter with some utility spells, like you would probably think at first sight. But Hawkeye isnt S tier material. He just isnt. Charlotte as high cleric heals potently, can even overheal your party members, providing HP beyond their maxes, but, again, nothing in the game really challenges her healing abilities, so high cleric is more or less a wasted party slot that should be filled with Riesz or Edelfrei Duran who are, somewhat counterintuitively, among of the best healers in the game due to putting many skill points into spirit, which makes them potent poto oil users. This provides all the healing you will ever need on top of them also fulfilling their roles as exceptional support characters which Charlotte can be, at best, rather meh at doing. So you dont have to endure her voice acting if you dont want to. This is just the information I gathered enjoying more or less a dozen playthroughs of this game, having had a blast every time. Its perfectly possible to argue that something else may be better in such and such situations, but this is about whats optimal. Done.

Don't agree with many points, but it's just my opinion btw. For Kevin particulary I like to go for warrior monk, it's prery strong not much as possible but still doing pretty nice damage, has a very nice area heal and tank is not bad. It's a fighter and healer very good in both. As Rise(Riesz ) I go for Fenrir Knight, at the 4th class she can lose 70 defense and gain 70 of pure damage, and the abilities are (Chain Ability) like a bonus. Is not a support but that does realy big damage/diference in the party. Angela is no doubt for the Magus (and was in that point I lost credibility in the video guy, he just say that magus is not good AoE lol, did u see that meteors?!?!), I literaly kill Anise last form with 4 or 5 of that magic, it`s a ridiculous damage area. The other 3 I'm plaing now, thinkin with class gonna got... Not shure about this but think for Duran i will go for Edelfrei, Hawk I'd like very much the area debuff of Ninja master, but the Nightblade look realy nice too, and for Charlotte i realy don`t got a good idea but have the item for Sage so...

I actually prefer Ninja Master over Nightblade for Hawkeye, his AoE jutsus just allow to clean mob fight in no time, and the debuff effect make ennemis pretty much make ennemy unable to damage you. He actually work well as a caster with the 2 weak point ability and chain ability provide you know the ennemies weakness they won't live long. Also his AoE jutsus hit all targetable parts for boss that have multiple part, and if you pair him with Angela you can give her the Weak Point II ability to increase her damage further. For Charlotte her sabers spells in her light classes are actually very good, and totally worth going light. Also sorry but I really see no reason to pick Duelist over Eldeifrei for Duran.

It depends on your party comp. If you have duran, angela and charlotte, you wouldn't want to go duelist, grand divina, and priest, as you wouldnt have any form of debuffs or buffs, and they don't have much synergy.

I didn't know Charlotte in her Dark Class is actually good in the remake cause in the original her dark class is bad...also Kevin will always be my favorite character cause light or dark, he brings the pain!

So apparently Rogue, the worst Hawkeye class in the original, is now his best class cuz he can nuke all enemies with Grumpkin. And Nightblade now sucks cuz bosses can't be afflicted with status ailments. Sigh.

Y'all are acting like this game isn't stompable with no deaths even on hard mode, with any composition at all. Maybe the black rabite might give you some trouble, but personally that's the only fight I've ever wiped on in 3 playthroughs... and I always fight him before the 4th job. Just pick the jobs that look and sound the coolest.
