What is the best Overlanding Vehicle? With Expedition Rove and Alucab, in the Cederberg South Africa

We kick off a great new partnership with a great new adventure! I meet up with Jana from @alu_cab and Simon from @RolbosOverland who take myself and @EXPEDITIONROVE on an epic 5 day adventure across the the Tankwa Karoo, and the Cederberg mountains ! Before that though, I run you through some of the new equipment I installed on the Hilux at Alu Cab, the likes of the Alucab Gen3R rooftoptent with drop down table and Backrest; plus a 270 Degreeshadow Awn, and finish it off with a shower cube!
I then head off to @4x4MegaWorld_Africa to install my @REDARCElectronics 3000W inverter with 400AH of EvoCharge Lithium Batteries. Plus we installed some new Hardkorr Spotlights and work lights! All synced up with the @garminemea Power Switch which offers wireless co trip over everything connected.

Your American lady friend was surprised not to see more people out there, well, Overlanding is out of reach for most of us. That's why i watch these episodes. From what I've seen and heard, she's going to need at least a year to travel Africa. Thanks for sharing bud...... The rig looks awesome 🤙

Personal opinion is a SUV like a defender/troopy or a jeep here in the U.S. with some interior living offers something extra with interior living space. There is a difference in camping and living, and that requires interior living.....love the videos and love getting to see Africa, thank you.

Thanks for the feedback! Tango is hard to beat that’s for sure! Character, comfort and offroad prowess… that’s a dynamite package! I must say though for my setup, just having that bit of space to sit in the tent and have a back rest and table, was sooo good on my 30 day trip I just returned from. It just helped Bridge the gap with some indoor comfort on some of those windy, cold and drizzly days.

Loved this and signed up for your up coming trips. Having watched a few episodes your film making is just getting better and better….loving it. After you have used your rig for a while it would be great to get a what’s worked…do differently type of thing. Finally, what make are your seat covers?

Very nice, another good watch, as always. I do however believe there could not be any "singular" BEST vehicle. Most certainly a "better" vehicle than perhaps any similarly comparable one. "Live in" vs "live out of" and personal preference also plays a huge role when deciding on one's "personal ultimate" and purpose built vehicle. All round great content though, really informative as well as entertaining.

Well that just means time to binge watch this weekend and give a little boost to your session times.👍😉 🏕🛠💪 I think I've heard of alucab the name seems familiar 🤔. I'm sure you will put it to the test. Congratulations on your partnership. All 3 rigs are cool. Love the orange on the defender. But gotta be honest and say the comfort of the hilux has me. The pop top roof/tent / second story is a good use of space. Great scenery you look like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing 👍

Lots 🤣 7.2km/L - 9.8km/L on the open road depending on the wind, and then 4.5-5km/L offroad and in thick sand

Auto! Because I’m lazy and often with my solo filmmaking I need one hand on a camera and one on the wheel, so changing gears can be tricky 😂

The Defender is classic and more stylish. Hilux works much better. It's up to everyone what they choose. 😉 Maybe an LC78 with a lifting roof.😀

I wouldn’t scare anyone away, our country isn’t perfect, but it’s beautiful and most people are friendly and excited to share their world and cultures 👍🏻 Overlanding is definitely safe, but obviously always have to be cautious of where you are and about leaving your vehicle unattended with lots of valuable equipment

You should just watch the whole show, and skip past the part you don’t like. But some people like to know about the updates and changes before the episode starts. So you’re doing yourself a disservice by skipped the whole episode 😋
