Questions regarding sleep position is the most popular topic among y’all when it comes to scoliosis. You are intuitive! You understand that there might be something beneficial you can do for your scoliosis while you sleep. There might be one sleep position that’s better than another and you’re right!
If you sleep between 8-10 hours per night, you are spending 9,000 hours a year in bed. So, if you can position yourself in a way while you sleep that helps your scoliosis, why wouldn’t you want to try that?
Remember, the most important thing is that you get your sleep. If you’re able to fall asleep in a “good” position and stay there for even a few minutes or an hour, you are benefiting your scoliosis!

A general rule of thumb, the firmer the mattress the better.
Why?
Firmer mattresses support your curves well, so you won’t sink further and further into your mattress and into your curve over the course of the night.
You also want to make sure your head is in line with the rest of your spine so that you’re not kinking your neck as you sleep.
