Great job buddy! Glad to hear your thoughts on this, I really like thinking about this premise!

I'm with Odee and Beo and a few of the others who have chipped in: Beorning is one of the best solo combatants, possibly the best. Good AoE, excellent single-target, self-healing, heavy armor/good mitigation, fairly easy to play, and =RAWR=. Hard to beat. I do think there are factors other than combat capability that contribute to a good soloing class. For example, Hunters and Wardens have incredibly convenient travel skills (the Hunter's is a bit better than the Warden's). While other classes can make up for it by spending some LOTRO Points on additional Milestone binds and cooldown reductions, Hunters and Wardens can put those points to use on other purchases. A few of the classes which most people think are the slowest solo grinders make up for it by being very sturdy or otherwise especially good at handling tough stuff. Any class and spec with any level of gear can get through the typical mob, it's just a matter of how fast and how many you tackle at one time. (I'll also note that it is sometimes faster to kill things one at a time than it is to pull a big group and AoE - sometimes.) For example, most people would probably agree that the Captain is one of the slowest grinders but when a Captain does run into that rare spawn Elite Master he can just wade in and wear it down to defeat whereas a Champion probably ends up having to run away or worse. If you like being able to handle surprises like that with aplomb and are willing to take a little - and it is only a little - more time to grind through normal mobs, then maybe Captain is better. But the most important point was made by Zollin repeatedly in this video: The best class for you is the one you will enjoy playing the most! If you're new, use your first couple of days to try out every class for at least a few hours. Then make your decision. And change your mind later if you want to!

my favorite thing about lotro is i can have tons of characters i love exploring games from different perspectives and i like not feeling rushed to get to high levels asap

My favorite class to solo is champion (easiest for me), I went with the blue line while playing the landscape difficulty. My next would be warden. Great video.

I feel like when people ask what's the best solo class, they're asking for the most efficient/easy class to solo landscape in general, while all classes can solo some do it better. And I feel like range classes have a better advantage over Melee, since Melee classes have to run over to defeat mobs compared to range, although medium and light armour have to watch out what they pull range is defiantly more effective I reckon, especially hunter, good damage, defeats enemy's fast and with some health potions+ cry of the hunter you can AOE a good amount of mobs :D loved the video, love listening to you

Having been a day zero druid tank in WoW, I took to the bear form Beorning like a duck to water and find it superb for rounding up and smashing groups of mobs and its a nice routine rotation that allows you to lead in buffs and heals as and when needed without opening up holes in your defence.

this was an interesting take. my first ever class soloing was a captain and i loved it. also lore-masters & hunters are on that “firsts” list for me. it just depends on how you play, like you said (:

Interesting video. Despite playing for years I have yet to try many of the classes. I got fixated on hunters very early. Think it's time to try every one, at least briefly. Except maybe warden, not sure my aging brain will retain all those moves. But who knows.

I have mainly played Hunter my whole Lotro journey for 10 years...you are right it's not the easiest but I have always enjoyed it , and how can you not like fast traveling everywhere...that was my biggest deciding factor when I first started.

I play a Burglar solo with xp block every recent content cap and have no trouble because of the reflect and dodge spells. Any content designed for 3 player groups is like it's made for a Burglar

champion and i also agree hunter, rune keeper are really fun since harder.

I love the Brawler and Captain. I did get a hunter to 140 solo in blue line, but it was sometimes a challenge.

Hunter for me is one of the easiest, even better than champion. The ranged damage is strong so you never get hit playing on level mobs. Root or fear a few if there's multiple opponents. Burglar feels slowest solo even more than captain though latter has decent area damage. Runekeeper is the magic version of hunter, killing so fast, drop a stone... Very strong too All in all it comes to how you want to play. Hunter S tier, burglar B for me and the rest in the middle of that range.

Doesn't matter which class you choose, soloing to cap is a breeze by farming to 20, then doing missions with xp boosts. So pick what you like.

I Did Naruhel alone with Hunter, all the Istance. I combinate Blue line with auto attack heal, and Light dmg Oil. Hunter and Lm is really good solo if you can use wisely.

After so many years playing as Guardian and Hunter, I would choose Guardian all the time, but people confuse me with Hunter because of damage and traveling options... 🤷‍♂️

Captains are invincibles even if they do less damages than others classes which is an advantage for xp solo

Loremaster and Rune-keepers are my favorites for solo. They can deal damage, AOE, and healing and use their pets or stones to take damage instead of themselves. When the going gets really tough, both can heal themselves until their damage and stuns take out the unexpected ambush. These are two classes that get much more powerful as you learn how to use their skills.

Guardian: sss Tier for me. I just don't care whatever tries to kill me, I welcome every victim of my steel body and mighty bleeds. Let them come out of their holes. I wouldn't say guardian is simplistic, it's just so smooth to use his abilities, and you even have a lot of time to think about your next move because he blocks, parries etc. all the time. Give me those elites all day long, they are cannon fodder.

I currently am enjoying the brawler. I feel dirty saying it though.

Ok for most of US beo is the best class, for me its boring playstyle even like hunter. I like the loremaster most because for only one reason...... it gives me fun. And thats the answer for All. Look for a class where you feel comfortable or feel a lil love 😄❤️ and you will be motivated to play further and further. Ok now i stop with this romantic talking 😄 cheers

I enjoy your content but I have to say you got this one a bit wrong. Beorning and RK are two of the best solo classes in the game hands down. Even more so than a Warden. Simply because of the gambit learning curve and lag. I solo most 6-12 man content on my Blue Beo (A blue line beo simply dosent die once you get recuperate even in yellow they are a force) and all 6 man content on my Yellow RK while lvling.
