I’m so happy for Jessica and seeing how much she has accomplished. When you are in a kpop girl group you don’t have freedom to do what you want to pursue your own dreams. Jessica is my ultimate bias and I think she is such a influential young woman and I’m so proud that she has achieved what she has achieved I think her leaving the group was the best for her not going to lie.

I will always be OT9 but time has allowed my heart to heal. I'm glad Girls Generation members and Jessica are achieving on their own. honestly most views these days are inflated. Fans go as far as to take on bot-like behaviour just to increase views artificially. It can be seen with some groups who got so many views yet still aren't as impactful in South Korea as less viewed groups. When I used to go to Noraebang in Korea with my Korean friends, the song choices were always those of "less viewed" artists.

Honestly when they get back together nowadays I can’t help but be a bit sad bc of the Jessica situation. I know they signed an NDA but acting like she never existed is tough to watch it must sting to be left out of all the reunions even if she is successful individually.

Jessica wrote on her official statement that both SM and the members supported her business at first but "others had a changed of hearts" (line from her statement). I still believed in what she said until now than SM. Call me bias but I believed in Jessica's words more than SM. Seems like they moved on already but it will still remained as the biggest mystery in KPOP. And also a lot of people after what happened keep on discrediting Jessica's hard work as a SNSD member. I just want to remind you again and again that SNSD's peak, their glory days was when they were 9, not 8. SNSD debuted as 9. For SNSD's iconic first 7 years together, Jessica was there. Their biggest smash hits had 9 voices. They won a lot of awards when they were 9. And Jessica was there when SNSD became the Nation's Girl Group and Legendary Girl Group.

I read Shine in one sitting! I could not put it down! It’s soooooo good!!! I am super excited for the sequel!!! I still remember that goddamn 9/30/2014. Days before that, they released a song called Indestructible and singing how the Soshi Bond is really indestructible. Then I suddenly woke up to see the news from allkpop which is notoriously known for spreading fake news. I was skeptical and didnt even take it in and just laughed about it. However, when I have checked on the other SONEs posts, it was indeed true. I was bawling my eyes. I was really crying and depressed for the whole week even crying. It was also a day when we did a reporting, I was really crying and sometimes tried to keep it in. Jessica is my bias and one of the things sold me in to SNSD is their sisterhood and to see that "friendship" was actually the reason why my bias was kicked out, it did let me down. I was very doubtful and unsure to enter KPOP world but SNSD invited me in. They are the first group who struck my heart and I really felt betrayed at that time. 9/30 was a cursed day for me. I always remember it whenever 9/30 comes

I still hope that one day, everything will be revealed and cleared up ONCE AND FOR ALL. We, Sones, deserve to know the whole truth. please. we were heartbroken too when 1 member left the group. I hope the members will be allowed to talk about it one day

As a sone….I just at this point don’t need to hear anymore about their split. I can see they’re all happy and thriving and doing amazing things- that’s all I could ever want for them! I still remember the days jessica news leaving snsd, I was crying as river. I was crying a whole day and can't still believe this would be happen. Because I never though snsd in bad terms or something. I thought maybe they just fight, jessica will come back but no. I still remember, I still waiting for jungsis season 2 but it cancelled. Then, during sm concert, sone were screaming jessica's name and the others were crying. I saw the fancam and it's really broke my heart. I remember the day she left so vividly. I was in high school. I remember seeing it online before I went to school. Literally couldn't focus throughout the entire day as my thoughts were constantly on the girls. Snsd were the first and only group I basically dedicated my entire life to, I remember been so upset and confused as to why Jessica left as it seemed so out of the blue. I of course still support the girls just as much, but it's a day that will always be etched in my mind. I was worried that, that would be the end of snsd, but I'm so glad they were all able to carry on and bring love to us sones and golden stars 🌟 Thank you soshi. Jessica extended her Contract with the rest of the SNSD members literally 1 month before she left. She wanted to stay. Thats why her sudden departure was shocking. She claimed in Interviews in 2010-2013 that she is a follower, and lives her life day by day, and doesent have any higher ambitions, she is already content with her life as is. So it seemed weird at the time in 2014, that she suddenly wanted to leave to pursue fashion. Alot of Fans put 2 and 2 together and blamed Tyler Kwon and believed he got in the way and influenced Jessica to leave, because he gave her money to start a business, and she was pressured. She was devoted to him because in her words, he gave her a new confidence that she was capable of more then she thought she could do. Remember she was still under SM until she pushed to terminate her contract later, so SM didnt just dump her. She suddenly wanted out. Something happened that could not be repaired. In the end, she probably chose love over SNSD. Her book "Bright" also hints the Character choosing love over her famous life in Kpop, and had to break some "rules" for this love. I believe that Jessica did make some mistakes that hurt the Group, but she also felt hurt because of the drastic and harsh decision to quickly remove her. People change over time, she seems fine with her current life. Its only been 8 years, but Jessica has changed and drastically matured since, I guess she had to. That was a life changing eye opening event for all 9 girls. All 9 girls seem to be doing fine, and I still dont sense any real bad blood between the Girls. Doubt it ever happens but it leaves hope for a OT9 reunion, maybe for their 15th Anniversary.

One thing I will NEVER forget is how sones and fans alike betrayed Jessica. They switched up on her so fast I couldn't believe it, going from claiming how important all members were to purposely act like Jessica was never part of the group. While SNSD pre-2014 will always have a place in my heart as the group that brought me to KPOP, that year made me realize how much KPOP is just a pretty facade.

Its not like she can say she hated it, cuz it would be bad for her PR, plus still lives out of that fame…

Jessica's vocals added a lot to many songs, especially the Japanese ones. Songs like Youaholic, Great Escape, Hero, etc would not be the same without her.. When she left the group they never were the same.

Jessica is a very important weapon for Girls' Generation to go international, let alone eventually develop their own brand. Fashion is inevitable. It can only be said that SM has given up on members and asked Girls' Generation not to continue to develop this aspect. At least Sika slapped SM in the face and made great achievements.

From what I understand of the whole 2014 situation, Jessica chose to leave at first because of all her business pursuits, which is why they'd shot the video for Divine as a goodbye to her. She then changed her decision later, due to having second thoughts about leaving or Tyler, which is what made the members have to rethink her position in all of this. You really think all 8 members, most of whom were some of her closest friends, would vote her out randomly just out of vitriol, jealousy, or pettiness? And do you really think SM would have blacklisted her in the industry just because the other members wanted her to leave the group? Jessica definitely violated her contract in some major way and was unprofessional enough to lose the trust of her closest friends. I mean, I don't necessarily blame Jess either. SM contacts are literally slave contracts. I do think she wanted more out of her life, creatively and professionally. She pursued that and she ended up having to lose another part of her life because of it, and that happens. Hyoyeon has spoken about how they've all had to suppress their own individual voices, opinions, and inclinations to make the group stronger, and how difficult that was. I can understand that Jessica was struggling to continue living her life like that and wanted to do something that was her own as well. At the end of the day, her priorities had changed. I mean, trainees end up going through so much shit pre-debut, but the ones who get through it are the ones who are sure that they want nothing more in life as nuch as they want this. That's it. It's just unfortunate that she had a messy exit from SNSD, but that was probably because SNSD as a group was a big deal and there was probably a lot of pressure on them to continuously match a standard of work which Jess wasn't able to make happen anymore. SNSD and SM had to take a professional decision. It's not like it was a family business, SNSD was at the forefront of the Hallyu Wave, in a time where the SKorean govt was known to be supporting K-pop groups to improve their position as a global soft power.

I love Jessica, but her saying that if she had stayed with SNSD, she wouldn’t been able to achieve her dreams, I don’t agree with that. Seeing the snsd members now, they are all free and doing what they love now. Jessica just got a head start on that.

Whilst I'm happy she found success after hey dismissal, I think the hope that ot9s have for a reunion is silly. There are now 3 members of SNSD no longer under sm contracts, and they haven't been for nearly 5 years. They have had plenty of time to "speak up" but won't, bc ot9 is in the past. The girls and Jessica aren't friends anymore, and likely haven't been since 930. They aren't hiding their friendship from the SM eye of Sauron. That makes literally no sense and anyone suggesting that grown adults would do this are delusional.

A few notes. She already had to fashion brand when she left snsd. Many believe that this was one of the reasons she got kicked out. Another thing, or her book “shine” she doesn’t explain her side of the history. In fact, there’s really nothing to do with SNSD. If you read the book you will see it’s just a fiction book (believe me, i tried to find the correlations)

If SNSD ever come back, and that's a big if. It will be as an 8 member girl group. The terms with which Jessica was dismissed are entirely different to the contract expirations of 2017. And no, we don't have the details on why sm dismissed her - only theories. Remember, Jessica hasn't given any reasons either.

I remembered that 1st time, I was 18 when I heard the news about 9/30... I heard the news months later because I just graduated from vocational school and too busy on my job hunting. I remembered how my life spiraling down the drain on that year. After graduation, my oldest brother told me to stop doing childish things e.g. kpop. So as my last goodbye, I surfed the internet and was bombarded by tons of news and millions of speculation about Jessica's departure. I walked home that day with my mind, haywired. My life sunk into depression until 2017. Somehow, I recovered when I accidentally saw Seohyun on Scarlet Heart Ryeo.. and their my SONE pink embers sparked again and slowly I started picking myself up and accepting the fact that everything had changed..

Yuri was the one who always clowns us with ot9 crumbs, tho it made us confused but we can't deny that we're still hoping that one day we will see them again gathering as a whole in front of their fans. #GG4EVA
