Story of One Piece isnt about the One Piece Itself its much much more...The One Piece dont matters at all, the whole Story is about the Family of D. nobody know enough atm about it i would say the Family D is the true Kings Family

the world of one piece is devided into east/west Blue and more when the Red Line is destroyed (ex. by sea kings "Shirahushi") all seas will join and become one world/piece a lots of secrets will reveal then, like Sanji's dream ( the all Blue ), a sea that has all the fish

the girl on the left remembers the little things like shanks being on the crowd while executing roger and shanks saying that the box worth more than their whole treasure, oda wrote one piece in a way he connects events with the past and the future a lot you will enjoy the show so much if u keep observing those little details

_Here we go again.._ It's always fun watching people experiencing One Piece for the first time. I've seen many people jump into the anime & manga after they were done watching the live action. The show did a good job welcoming new fans, so enjoy the journey~!

I never get tired of seeing newcomers to the show discover that Luffy can stretch. For something so fundamental to the character the reveal of it was perfect. Incidentally; he's not completely invincible; blunt things bounce off, which includes pistol balls, but blades are still effective. There's a few other strengths and weaknesses as well that turn up sooner or late

Plus, his resistance to blunt force attacks only goes so far. If someone strong enough hits him hard enough, that’s it for him.

@@critica77y77 that one's a misconception, although the live action adaptation confuses it a bit by him seemingly getting hit by things sometimes. Unless they've ignored that part of canon here though he's literally completely immune to blunt force; every example in the manga/anime of somebody seemingly hurting him involved another weakness coming into play. The most misleading here would be CP9, who seemingly went at him barehanded, but ultimately only did damage with slicing attacks from their martial arts or from literally having claws.

@@Madman13K CP9 was one thing. An angry Nami is something completely different. On a serious note, most opponents haven't been able to hurt Luffy with blunt attacks, but he didn't become completely immune to them until he unlocked Gear 5.

@@critica77y77 but can you name a single example of blunt force actually working? preferably without bringing up literal explosions, since the way Oda handles those is a can of worms I'd really rather not unpack in a random youtube comment. Pretty much every case I remember he just gets knocked around but gets back up.

@@Madman13K According to Luffy, Garp's "Fists of Love" were just as painful after he ate the fruit as they were before. Yes, Garp has Haki, but I doubt he was actually using it, given that doing so would have been a bit much for Luffy to handle. Aside from that, Impact Dials are very painful for him to use.

Kudos on recognizing that Shanks was in the crowd for Roger’s execution.👍🏻 For those of us familiar with One Piece all caught it because we all knew Shanks and others in the crowd already, but very few reactors who’re new to OP seem to catch that he was shown in the crowd.

Love the reaction, one small thing for ya'll to know. The names in the show are arranged in a east asian confucian/courtesy name style. This means (loosely) it's last name, middle name, first name. So Monkey D. Luffy means Monkey is the last name and Luffy is the first name. Roronoa Zoro; Roronoa = last name, Zoro = first name.

This is such a FUN show...and should be the perfect pallet cleanser after Chernobyl (a series y'all did a great job on btw). Doing this one has earned you a sub. I look forward to the next installment. Enjoy the ride. Maybe the best show of 2023.

It makes me happy seeing people smile and laugh 'like idiots' in such a genuine manner to one of the best shows ever made (Anime, but the LA has adapted it quite well, as opposed to so many other attempts at a Anime to Live Action). I'll just throw this little bit of a fun fact: Eiichiro Oda (original author of the manga) is literally top 10 best selling fiction authors of *all time*. While it is understandable to not have enough time to watch 1000+ episodes of the anime, I love how well the LA has adapted the source material, even if some things are thrown way earlier than they should be (Garp, for one). You two are in for a wild ride. And if the chance ever arises for you to actually watch the anime, I can 100% guarantee you will not regret it. This, coming from someone who was quite 'against' watching the anime to begin with, and later finding myself absolutely and madly in love with its world and characters.

I can see that in every new reaction of people reacting to Luffy's character and they immediately fall in love with it. Its very underrated how well Luffy's character was written, he was written in a such a way that brings the good out of ppl and want you to support him protect him and make him succeed. Mihawk said it better in Marineford, he has the most powerful power in the world. Rallying people with him without even knowing.

Don't worry, nobody understands what a commitment watching the One Piece anime is better than One Piece fans, this show isn't the same, but it has the heart and soul of the anime, hope you enjoy the series!

Yep I agree, it took me a few tries to stick with the show but now I'm currently in the 800's nearing at the end of the Whole Cake arc. I personally like the show and appreciate the dedication and effort everyone put into it.

A nice detail about this show is that, in the ending, you can see a map. And that map gets updated each time with the islands they end up visiting.

It might not seem like it right now, but this story, from what I've experienced in my entire life, probably has the best world building. To me, it actually feels like something huge, and it's because of the incomprehensible amount of thought and dedication that Eiichiro Oda has put into this world.

Yeah, there are only a few writers who could match the genius of Oda but at that point it CAN'T get better, just equally good lmao. For me Lord of the Rings(book of which all the "classic fantasy" tropes comes from), Songs of Ice and Fire(Books of Game of Thrones), Worm(A web novel that is almost the length of One Piece and its just AMAZING), and the Cosmere(A universe of books in which each planet is it's own series with it's own amazing world building) are the only works of fiction that match the world building of One Piece and even exceed it in some aspects but never in everything because as I said the level of all this stories is so fucking good that is just peak fiction. I also heard the the Wheel of Time is the One Piece of Books but I haven't found the time to read it yet :(

@@drakesacrum8445the cosmere is not really helping people know what it is as it is several series of books that are not really linked and in several different generas of books. Basically most of Brandon Sandersons books are in it. Wheel of time is 14 books starts at around 1000pages and only gets larger each time. Brandon Sanderson finished the series last 2 or 3 books as the author died.

It's all building towards a space sci-fi era and there are a lot of things happening in the background in almost every book relating other books. Specially the last few of them.

So few things about One Piece, it is a good vibes show but when it does go dark it goes HARD. You will cry, but you will cry tears of laughter, heartbreak and triumph in equal measure. One Piece is a story like no other written by a man with an almost supernatural understanding of human emotions. Get ready for one hell of a ride.

So… it’s actually based on the manga. The anime is just another adaptation but I’m so glad you guys enjoyed this one! They did an amazing job of bringing the spirit of One piece to the live action and its just a great introduction to the world. There’s going to another season at the very least so this is definitely not the last we’ve seen of this show

I don't know if anyone mentioned it (or if you already know), but the names of the characters are "Japanese" style, last name first. So Monkey D Luffy's first name is Luffy. Zoro is Roronoa Zoro's first name. Helps to keep things clear.

by the way ... the bounty under those wanted posters show basically the power level of the person. The higher the bounty, the stronger the person on that poster.

Nah, it represents the threat they possess to the world government. If it had represented Power levels, Chopper would have had a much higher bounty and Buggy would have had much lower one.

@@nandnishrivastava5654 It is a metaphor for power levels.. why even start debating it ??? its clear. The higher the bounty the stronger the person based on the world governments estimate. Your example with Buggy and Chopper is not relevant because we talk about CURRENT DATA that the world government has. People get stronger ,than the wanted posters get updated . And we are speaking in general terms. In general terms the poster show the power level of that person. ________________ Yes exceptions exist .. like in dragon ball, the scouters show power levels . but then it turned out that some beings ( like Kakarot ) can hide their true power level.. But that doesn't mean that the scouters don't work, they still work, simply some can hide their true power. Same here, the world government simply has not full data on everybody, but 99% of the time the posters show the power level of the person CORRECTLY ..( in metafor )

@@tanelviil9149its not necessarily about power level, the guy is right, is more about the treath they represent for the gonverment, just happens to be that the ones more dangerous are hella strong too, buggy is weak asf but he's really influential politicaly speaking and was even able to put bounty in marines head's and get some of them killed, and even become a yonkou because of that

One Piece is the greatest story ever told. Been going since 1997 and still not done. Noone tells a story like Oda (the author). No story has ever made me cry so damn much. It's been so nice to see new people coming along for the ride. Great reaction can't wait for more!

As a longtime fan, the highlight and gasping moment of Episode 1 was :- The Title drop with the music, Zoro and Mr 3.5-3.5, Buggy reveal with the wanted poster..and the accuracy of the BuRuRuRu snailphone, known as Snai Transponders.

I never REALLY appreciate alot of reactions, even though I still watch alot of them for some reasons. BUT, you girls are awesome! And even for watching this for the first time not even knowing about onepiece. You are smart, you actually pay attention to what is happening, figuring out details and make assumptions as you watch and genuinly make me feel like you are interested in what is happening! great respect! It's always fun seeing newcomers react to anime, but seeing all the new folk discovering One Piece has been extra fun because of Oda's storytelling and world building abilities that weren't lost in the live action adaptation. The numbers on the comic (manga) and anime are a lot BUT if you enjoyed the live action I really would recommend giving either of the previous versions a shot. Even a glance into the anime openings can be fun. Enjoy the show, can't wait to see more.

If u liked Live action, u must watch the anime by urself. If u felt any emotion in this, u will just be lost in the depth and emotion of the actual story. It is a promise, u have never read a story as detailed, emotionally rich and epic as this. Anyone who loves a great story can't miss this. Just give it a try. U all can thank me later Just a short trivia: The mangaka/writer of OP who is Eiichiro Oda works 21 hours per day and sleeps only 3. He has been doing this for past 30 years. This alone should be enough to give u the passion and dedication behind this masterpiece. It is still one of the best literature ever existed, with the mixture of childish banters/fun. It handled many dark and problematic themes with much care and devotion. It is a must watch for anyone. U won't know what u are missing until u watch it 🙏

Welcome aboard. I love seeing newcomers make my heart swell seeing new people enjoying it. Not many people outside the anime and the creator know what the one piece is. Personally, I say it's a massive treasure and a never-ending stream of Sake (you'll see why as the series continues) that when you drink it will the people you love most in this world you think back to everyone you met, those you lost, and the grand adventure you went through to get here

For info about the Manga/Anime, it's in top 5 of the most book sells in the world. Top 2 with more than 500M books sell. (First it's Superman's comic book). 2 guiness book one for sell 320M then recently second record with 500M sells. It's out in Manga in 1997 and the Anime in 1999 and it's not yet finish , the episode 1080 was out recently. Eechiro Oda the creator had supervised the creation of this Live Action. Of course, many things was shrinks to the Core for fit in 8 episodes (18M $ each) that take many Arc from the Manga/Anime. For people like you who are new in the story, i think you gonna love it. This season it's even the beginning of the story, the real one. So many things will not be explained yet but you'll understand all the story of this season 1.Have open mind for all the things you gonna see, objects / people etc...Oda have really a lot of imaginations. And he put many forshadow and eater eggs in this season already. Have a nice show. Welcome new Nakamas :)

They got the creator of the manga on board, and gave him creative control in his contract. Nothing happens without his approval. That's really all it takes for a good adaptation. Pity they're only just starting to discover this now. I hope they learn a lesson from it and there's other good adaptations that follow.

the main character's name is Monkey D Luffy, the naming system is following Japanese's order so it's last name first then first name at the end, so Monkey is last name, D is middle initial, Luffy is his first name.... it goes the same with every other characters in the show...

As a One Piece fan, I'm so excited for you guys. You are gonna love this whole Journey learning about the story of Luffy, his crew and their whole adventure. It's a full emotional circle. This story will make you love it unlike anything you've seen before.

The acrobat-looking guy that informed to Buggy (the clown pirate) could be seen during the tavern scene with the brawl. He was lurking there, probably scouting out his options for the exact same heist, albeit actually planned.

The live action does a really good job of embodying everything that makes the anime so fun. You guys are gonna love everything about this series and i cant wait for you to start the anime. Its a long journey but it is quite literally the greatest story ever told

yooooooo so pumped to watch this after seeing how you two experienced Arcane. It'll be cool to see how you're BOTH seeing something for the first time. This show really surprised me with how much heart it has and how easily it could have been either cheesy or "too anime". I don't know how they found the balance but they did. In for the long haul.
