Omg , great video. A while back I bought a device that had a long cable wrapped up and secured with this unusual Velcro tie, the weird part was it stuck to itself and there was no rough side. I've been searching high and low trying to find out more about this soft Velcro or "snag free" type and you are the first I've seen anyone mention it! Google search did not know, KZfaq search did not know, in fact everywhere I searched nobody knew. EBay search, Amazon search nope nothing. Thank you for posting it.

Yes ma'am! I bought a roll of the newer kind several years ago and it comes in handy for SO many practical things. I previously avoided the original kind in sewing projects because of its scratchiness. That was a great tip on putting the wrong side of the original velcro's rough side toward the skin - such common sense (I didn't seem to have back then). Thanks

Thank you, I saw the snag free Velcro while I was shopping for fabric last week, (I can't leave the fabric store without looking at everything) I wondered if it would actually work when I read the package. That means no more combing the fuzz out of the hook side to make it continue to work long term.

I am not traditionally a big fan of Velcro but this newer type might be something worth considering. I have snagged (and wrecked) a few things with the old stuff so this just might be the ticket. I look forward to Tuesdays !!

is the double sided roll as strong as the one sided strips? As the other commentor asked, does it have a sticky side to adhere to non porous surfaces?
@richardwilkes64684 жыл бұрын
Great display but I think it would be useful to show product adhering to surface. Is that what it does?

Hi Laura. I always wondered what no snag Velcro was when I saw the package at the store. I have been using "One Way" Velcro which is a little different. The front of the strip is the fuzzy side and the back is the hook part so folded back on itself it hooks together. I'm thinking this is different from the no snag Velcro because there's no hooks on the fuzzy side. Thank you for sharing. I'm learning so much from this and your other videos. I have to go now and watch another one. Carol S.

My gloves (cycling, weightlifting, golf, sailing), coat sleeves and swimming trunks all have the hook facing the skin. Why do manufacturers do it the wrong way?

Does Velcro stick to felt? What kind of felt? Woven or non-woven?

I've used this for cord wraps! Works great, just add fabric end covers.

Hello, I am looking for a velcro that is on one of my daughters dolls dresses, it is still 2 sides, but so soft and very thin, and very high quality... I cannot find it anywhere. If you are ever in a toy shop and see a Lalaloopsy Doll with a dress on have a feel.... it feels amazing x

The majority of clothes that have Velcro are designed in a way so that it is uncomfortable on your skin

Why is it called hook and loop?
@SewVeryEasy5 жыл бұрын
Hook and loop is the general name. Most people know it as Velcro. :) Good question :)
@boliussa5 жыл бұрын
+Sew You are so unscientific it's ridiculous, you didn't even understand my question. I'm well aware that Velcro is a make, a famous make, of products one of which is known as hook and loop. But I was asking why it was called hook and loop, i.e. where is the hook where is the loop. I have since done some searching and it seems that one part, the stick like part, even though perhaps not little hooks, is able to get stuck in the other part, so is a hook in that sense, but the other part, the softer part, has pieces that curl or sometimes curl, making a loop, each, or many of which, making a loop. I do wonder if the hook/prick part is actually little hooks if seen under a microscope or magnifying glass, but I doubt it.
@SewVeryEasy5 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see what you mean. Now you have me wondering how it looks under a microscope lol

You didn’t tell what is a hook vs Velcro vs a loop. You didn’t use the terminology in your video. So I’m still unsure

This product is called HOOK and LOOP fasteners! Velcro is the name of the company!!!! Should do your research on a product before you do a review on them!!!!!
@itechhen3 жыл бұрын
Completely ignorant useless comment Marion. not to mention wrong, dumbass! Velcro was the first company to invent hook and loop fasteners and it's always been marketed as Velcro. Velcro is Velcro and Velcro is hook and loop. Velcro is a company, a brand, and a product..it's all of these things. Similar to Dremel. Dremel is a small rotary tool and yet it's also called a dremel. Dremel is the brand but it's also the product. Look at the packaging numb nuts, obviously the company understands the concept of name/word recognition and "Velcro" the company is selling snag free "Velcro" the product. ffs, you're the one that needs to get their facts straight before criticizing. Don't worry, God loves stupid people too.
