May I remind you that great Roman Emperors as Trajan, Adrian, Teodosius I the Great were born in Hispania and Spanish is a Latin derived language. Culture and language, in Latin America are in debt with Spain and Portugal so they are as latinos as you are.

That’s not true. Hispanic has nothing to do with moors, hispanic comes from the name Hispania and was the ancient name of Spain thousands of years before moors came to Spain. Spain’s name is still Hispania, but just spelled in the castilian style as España.

Mø Nälayé is absolutely right about the French when they tried to influence Hispano América after the independence replacing Spain becoming the new metropolis of the independent new republics of Hispano America, so the French made a great and succesful effort trying to replace Spain and its related Hispano América denomination of its vast Empire with Latin America (as French is also a Latin language and France was willing to be related to them). Hispania was much more important than Sardinia already during the Roman Empire and Latin was not originated in Sardinia. Certainly you are not directly related to Latin Americans as Sardinia had no business there even if in 1479, Ferdinand II of Aragon wed Isabel of Castile, and the Kingdom of Sardinia fell under Spanish rule for the next 400 years.

Thanks, it always felt that way growing up in America too. Black was just BLACK. It wasn't until I started traveling and when I went to Northern Africa that I saw people that specifically looked more like me. Especially in Morocco since it's so close to Spain and part of my mom's background being from there.

Yeah I definitely get that the earliest DNA is pinned back to the motherland, but more making a point that the categorization companies use to determine your "race" really is confusing and doesn't make any sense. Anytime there's a "mixed race" or "other" box I usually side with that one. But growing up in the 90's they didn't ever have that option, just white, black, non-white hispanic, white-hispanic, or asian.

Exactly! The only thing I believe sets everyone apart is the fact that as peoples began migrating from Africa to different regions of the world the more our genes began to adapt for survival. Less pigmentation in colder regions, more pigmentation in hotter regions. It's also interesting to see different body types emerge in various regions because of what their daily routines were to find shelter, gather food, brave different weather conditions/terrain etc.
