Here in Finland the police use many different sedans and wagons, at least Ford Mondeo, Toyota Avensis, Skoda Octavia and others, but the most common is a VW Transporter van. Police have most of with decals and lights, some of them just plain white with lights and some are "undercover" without any decals and lights. Every time i see some sort of a white van that looks even remotely like VW, my first reaction is to check my speed...

Same with VW Passat station wagon here in Germany (or BMW 3 station wagon).

well I don't know the size of his... manhood, but this scares me. I too am a volunteer, but its people and situations like this that give us all a bad name. Yes, many times our vehicles will end up looking very much like police vehicles, however the key is the power dynamic. As a FF or EMT, you have to respect the fact that you are allowed to do these things. You cannot and should not abuse your lights. Nor should you make yourself appear to be a police officer by doing things like say things on the radio to appear that you are a police officer. Not only is that putting yourself in a dangerous situation, but if his radio actually goes somewhere just keying it up is wasting airtime. I want people to realize that even the buffs and whackers, (and I am a buff) don't take it to this level, and I don't want people to think that we are all like this guy, pretending to be police officers.

My local metro area PD was Ford CV from '92 or so until the mid 2000s when they went to the Impala for the majority of their patrol cars, keeping a handful of then-current CVs for specialty purposes. Now they've gone back to Fords for regular patrols, using both the Taurus and Explorer (and F150s and Ram trucks for CSI and event coordination units). That's in addition to numerous other unmarked cars like Nissan Titans, Toyota Camrys, and even some real sneaky shit like when they ran Dodge Avengers with alloys and limo tint or fully loaded "Chrome Edition" Maximas on shiny-ass 20" wheels. Then their drug task force cars could be anything from a new Infiniti to a clapped out '97 Navigator. County and city forces outside the metro seem to equally use Chargers, Tauri, and Explorers. There is one small area that runs *TDI Passats* as they're in county but have their own police department that isn't related to the larger metro force. The speed limit there is like 25 and that's legitimately all you can ever do so they don't need speed anyway.

GM has had them since at least the 90's on all of their vehicles, Ford only puts them on Canadian models,and I don't remember Chryslers having them in the U.S. either.
