Hey Adam, I just had my gallbladder removed about 2 weeks ago. Your story, determination, and outlook on both life and golf have brought me joy and hope in some of the hardest times. I can't wait to heal up and get back out onto the course, with God's help. I've watched nearly every video on your channel going back a year. Thanks for the awesome content, and for helping to keep me optimistic! You're the man!

Adam, seeing you struggle on the greens like this is really impressive! Compared to your excellent regular putting stats it really shows how hard it is to putt on glass-like surfaces. If you're putting like this than I would be rolling them into greenside bunkers.

Even scratch men would need like 3-4 shots given per round to compete with lpga players. And the crazy thing is how much the game has advanced for women over the last couple of years. I caddied in the same group when michelle wie was playing the us publinx champ when she was like 16 or so. She was seriously impressive. So even though she didnt win, it was clear if she was that good that peak annika at the time would have roasted that field, and those were some of the best amateur men in the country

My home course is somewhat known for fast greens (I've had guests go from GIR to having a 40 yard wedge shot after a putt they couldn't baby enough) and we typically are somewhere around 11-12. My first round on the course was after a state senior amateur championship where the greens were measured at 15. I had 45 putts. You learn to leave yourself below the hole. When you're above the hole, intentionally hit the ball out of the toe to kill some energy from it.

So this is LPGA Major setup, not the norm for them. From the article Amateurs vs LPGA golfers - average scores, driving distance & more (March 2022) "....that the average course length on the LPGA is 6,400 yards and the average course length that scratch golfers play is 6,200 yards." That's a really good article full of lots of interesting stats and comparisons, a good read. I'm not belittling LPGA players in any way, just pointing out they don't normally play that length of course outside of Majors.

Reads like you are taking a shot at them anyway. Green speed, pin placement, hazard location, ob also add to the difficulty. Also course handicap plays a part. You would get less strokes. If he had to play straight up... You know what's happening.

As a similar cap, I've found that although courses like these do make a difference even if you are on point that day, they make way more of a difference if you are off that day. Scrambling gets way way harder.

I have a great friend who plays on the Epson Tour (the Korn Ferry for the LPGA) and you would be amazed how well she hits it. Keep in mind she usually finishes mid-field at events so the best on the LPGA would smoke the average scratch player.

oh man, one of those days. not a good day to drive the ball like that. puts too much pressure on everything else, which showed on that front nine. i bet if you drove it well, somehow scrambling and putting would have felt 'easier' due to added mojo. but when the mojo is sapped before the green the added stimp becomes a real bogeyman.

My local club had a Lpga future world #1 turn up at her old local club. It was some sort of sponcer event. On one of the par fives she hit a drive straight down the middle. She then said "gents if any of you can hit it past my drive you'll get a sleeve of balls, just one thing you must hit the fairway". I must have watched 60 to 70 guys try. Only 3 succeeded, there were balls flying off in all directions. Now she was by far not the longest hitter on tour and weighed about 55kg. Quite an eye opener!

If I ever get a chance to play a track like that. I pray I’m hitting the ball decent. I have played some nice course in Myrtle beach and I play really good on quick greens and lush fairways. Get that spin because a lot of course in much summer time there really hard.

Hey Adam, I played a similar length, similar slope rated course in a two day competition in France. It was for over 25’s and I’m well over 50! Lol. There was a fair bit of rain 🌧️, wet fairways, lush sticky rough and slow, fairly unpredictable greens. It was a wash out - 97 and 107. I was exhausted and three days later still recovering… Many holes were well beyond my distances (drives were almost 50 yards shorter in the damp weather and every other club proportionally shorter). I did get a birdie on one par 3 (driver, putt) otherwise was happy scoring bogeys. But there too many doubles and some 8s and 9s mostly due to poor choices rather than poor play (though there was that too). Your channel has helped my game by helping me keep a good and simple overall attitude: just a few days previous, I carded one of my best recent competition scores of 85 by following your approach… thanks. Now if I can figure out how to make a living from golfing 🏌️‍♂️, that’d be great… (I did help publish a book some years ago - good golf is easy).

The video shows that accuracy is far more important than distance. If the drives were 50yards shorter but always on the fairway it would have been so much easier imo. Still great golf I would dream of breaking 90 in the near future.

If you are putting on really fast greens, the ball won’t take the break until it starts slowing down . Also if your driver is not behaving ( like mine usually ) take a club that puts you in the fairway. You’ll cut out some of the doubles and make an odd par

So I’m really trying to determine where you guys continue to play golf. I live in Atlanta Georgia in anything that is not on the fairway or in the rough goes into the trees and you get a penalty. Everything that you’re playing off-line you can play it and scramble. I wish I had those opportunities.

Depends on the course. On some course you lose a ball if you miss the fairway by more than a little. Most at least give you a chance to hit a recovery shot from the trees or rough.

Fellow North Georgian here. You aren't kidding. Outside of the occasional muni course (like Browns Mill I played a couple weeks ago) all the courses around here are fairway or die. There's just no room to be wild off the tee. I've played a handful of So Cal and Arizona courses and its night and day for the most part. Both courses at TPC Scottsdale just let you bomb it pretty much on every hole because there's so little penalty for being off line.

@@Hugo5t1gl1tzAppalachian courses are absolutely brutal (east Tennessean here). We have one decently flat course in our area, and even it doesn’t have a ton of forgiveness outside the fairway (trees or water).
