People seem to not realize that in terms of michelin starred fancy restaurants, $225 is actually a good deal. So many restaurants cost $1000+ and still have less food than all 18 of these courses. At least there isn't too many caviar and gold leaves here. Edit: I have researched that the average michelin star restaurant cost $500. $225 is still quite cheap

Yes, very true. However, even 3 star restaurants don’t cost $1,000 (well not most of them any way). You can usually do the full tasting menu with an aperitif, good (obviously not the absolute best, but also not the cheapest), tax, and tip for $500-700 per person.

@@MrLoo-wc5fm have you seen the size of the dishes and what they present as a dish? Oxygen on a leaf takes no time. Most of these restaurants put out insane sounding numbers of courses just for the shock factor. The food quality usually isn’t that great either, but you can take nice pictures and brag about it. All style, no substance. Great service is great, but you can get that in smaller restaurants as well. Not to mention that socially engaging waiters are every introverts nightmare and most north Europeans for example would be extremely wierded out anyways by that, because you usually enjoy your food in peace and quite, so that you can really focus on the food.

The newer Michelin Star restaurants like this are starting to improve the quality of “fine dining” overall. They give you interesting, different flavors and the plating actually FILLS YOU UP. Trying new combinations and flavors (and eating my fill) are the only reasons I eat out anymore. Most “fancy restaurants” are simply overpriced (and automatically add gratuity to the check) with a finite menu that you are better off simply cooking at home yourself (e.g. Ruth’s Chris steakhouses)

Each meal is around 3+ bites and sometimes more. 18 courses would probably a LOT. 54+ bites of expensive food. I would call that a steal considering it’s all expensive food from a Michelin starred restaurant as well as being 18 courses long.

The dishes basically are there to illuminate all of a chefs talent and expertise in a small bite size portion. That’s why it’s called a tasting menu because you are tasting the chefs skill. Half of the reason to go to a fancy restaurant is to appreciate a chefs skill as well as the food, hope this helps

French style cuisine is truly something to experience. I use to hate on the idea of pricy dining but this pricy dining is great. High price steak house should not be considered fine dining, expensive yes, not fine dining. Only be careful you don’t become addicted to it. You’ll crave it and start looking at everything else as so much less appealing.

$225 seems like a good deal to me for a experience like that. I see videos online of people paying over a thousand dollars for a steak just because salt bae served it. I couldn’t even pretend to afford that. This place looks actually better, foods I could never get anywhere else, and an experience to remember. It’s like paying for a ticket to a show or experience than just a meal.
