Palisade is a beautiful rurall town with the desert mesas for a backdrop. Whenever I drive through there I love to stop by and grab a pint at Palisade Brewery. The last time I was there it was a couple years ago in October. It was right around sunset, with an autumn chill in the air, and an outdoor fire pit going on. It was the perfect atmosphere to have a cold one!

So glad you made this video! I lived in Montrose and commuted to my job at Telluride ski resort (70 miles/1.5 hours each way). We had an employee shuttle until COVID. I couldn’t afford the commute so had to get a job somewhere else. No one is commuting from Montrose to Aspen. The 2 towns are 3 hours apart. People working in Aspen might live and commute from Glenwood Springs. The western slope is far better than the Front Range and the Summit County. It’s not too overrun except in places like Telluride and Ouray. Ouray is pronounced “Your Ray.” You totally butchered that 😂!

They can grow hops because the climate is similar to areas of eastern Washington state, where they grow the famous "Cascade" hop variety. My grandparents' family lived at Monte Vista, near the southern border, and some of those people grew red potatoes. One of my great uncles was on the Colorado potato board in the 1940s and 50s.

NC Carol here. Husband and I spent time in Montrose. Arrived from Denver just after a tornado and stopped to eat some of the best Mexican/Southwest food, beer, blue corn tortillas ever! Loved the beauty of the plains outside Montrose heading to Durango. Had to stop for a huge sheep roadblock! Huge herd being moved. :)

My husband and I were in Colorado in August 2022 for our honeymoon. We went east where you went north to Pueblo. We stopped in one of those migrant Mexican looking towns called Rocky Ford for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Seeing your video of the Rockies made me want to go back right now!!! The beauty in Colorado is amazing!!! BTW we didn't like Boulder at all. You could feel the leftie vibes.

I used to go to Grand Junction, and Palisades alot. I love Palisades. Lots of wine tours and grape orchards. Very beautiful. The Maverik gas station in Palisades has so many beers, and wines I've never seen anywhere else.

My mom went to Mesa when I was little and we lived in Glenwood Springs. Used to go Grand Junction for school supply/clothing shopping. Last time I drove through Colorado I entered from Utah to Dinosaur, took a side highway to Rifle (waved at the Meeker sign as a joke--we used to do swim meets there), then took I-70 through my old hometown, took a nap over night at Grizzly Creek (where we used to take school trips), and the next day visited a fellow Glenwood-raised friend in Aurora before leaving the state. Yes, my Aurora friend has since escaped "the armpit of Colorado". But my favorite route is going with my dad from Oklahoma to the Gunnison to Carbondale, and then visiting Glenwood. One day I would love to return, go to Dotzero, and head north on the highway that loops back to Glenwood but up on a plateau. We used to go camping up there.

I love Colorado, I am a native of Colorado. It has beautiful places that are great to visit, explore, and great sight seeing. The only bad thing about Colorado is wages, jobs, cost of living and the litter of homeless breaking into abandoned shops to try and stay warm during the winter. I would love to move somewhere else, but I'll find the same problem no matter where I go.

Nice video Nick. I've spent many a vacation traveling the state myself. By the way, Ouray is pronounced Your-RAY by the locals, vs. OOH-ray. It was named for Chief Ouray of the Ute nation.

Yeah there are a lot of ppl moving into rural towns in TX hill country. Wimberly, dripping springs, Fredericksburg and now Johnson city. Grew up in Hunt and nothing ever really changes out there but now there are new multi million dollar homes popping up frequently.
