I have a very similar and interesting story about nightcrawler worms, if anyone cares to read? Many many years ago, when fishing, I cut a nightcrawler worm in half to use as bait and put the half I didn't use back into the worm container. After while, I needed another half worm. Upon opening the container, I noticed a big ball of worms; they were all intertwined together in a massive worm ball. I went to reach for the wormball and they all tightened up at once, not unlike a heartbeat might constrict the heart. I reached for it again and the ball constricted even tighter. Well, I went looking for that half worm, plucking apart the worm ball trying to find it, and in the exact center of this massive worm ball was that other half of the worm. I knew right there and then that those other worms had made that ball around him to protect him. I did not use that half worm; in fact, I did not use any more worms on that fishing trip, rather, taking them home and releasing them into my backyard. I have never used live worms or any live bait after that. I surmised: if those "lowly" creatures can show compassion and care for one another, then why couldn't I?!

You're welcome, nannyflowers. In a way, we're all that half worm; always in a hurt from something or other. And could always benefit from the surrounding and healing of our fellow worms. If only us humans were more in tuned to sharing our innate love. You are loved, nannyflowers 🤲💌🕊️💟

It's a wonderful story and while heart breaking but also an eye opener that the creatures that are so tiny that you can crush beneath your toe if accidentally step on them can exhibit emotional bond beyond their microscopic brain should be capable of. I am not an insect (But I do love butterfly) or a lizard person but I try as much as not to harm on knowingly.

My favorite episodes are the ones that give first-person accounts of a connection with nature. Like the Platypus one with Pete Walsh.

Hmm, looks like they only leave the full episodes up temporarily. I could only find clips they posted like this one. The documentary is called "The Platypus Guardian". It brought my daughter and I to tears when we watched it together.

Amazing, Nature loves all living things If would quit fighting, and destroying it, we could have a beautiful world of acceptance, instead of destruction

Wow, way cool! You obviously have good vibes, but I think you are mistaking what was going on there, it was all about them, not about you. I didn’t understand the last sentence “I became the tag.” 🤷🏽‍♂️

The footage here is incredible there is no doubt about that, but what you did was incredibly irresponsible and obviously highly dangerous. These whales didn't "accept" you into their group, they just took no notice of you because of your size and insignificance. Whatever happened to filming nature from a distance and not getting involved in their behavior? They already have to deal with us more than they should as is and you still thought to get involved in their business? If this person had been killed would PBS/Nature have released that footage? I know the answer to that is no and one reason for that is because they know what is going on here is wrong.

We are all, but a part, of the "web of life"; and if we can interact with other living and nonliving creatures, that will make the web even stronger. In my 10 minute search, there are NO instances of sperm whales attacking, eating or otherwise harming a human being. I believe your view is from the "humans are superior to all other earth lifeforms" view.

anthropomorphic fantasies; “I was accepted”; you probably disturbed their sacred practice; use a marine capable drone with restricted 🚫 distance or just stay on the shore.
