My dads shadow created my shadow. Very personal trauma that happened between us, but I was able to genuinely forgive him. We were able to talk about the the trauma together in person and we made it through it. We no longer talk about it specifically, but he helps me through my hardships and reminds me to be grateful in life. I respect him, appreciate him, and love him deeply. First as a kid I thought my dad was an asshole, then as teenager I thought he was an idiot, then in my 20's I thought he was literally emotionally autistic. In my 30's I thought he was just a big loser. Now in my 40's I realized I can't expect from him what he doesn't have and I can only accept him the way he is. Saturn's in 12th biggest challenge is accepting that no matter how hard you try, people including your family will never give you full credit for your efforts. The Universe will, but people will never grasp the depth of your Soul. That's why the best remedy is to embrace helping others without expecting anything in return.

My Saturn sits in the 12th house in Aquarius and it's true, there is some sort of detachment or abandonment from the father. I grew up without my father and it was really painful. There is an empty space in my heart that I am trying to figure out because I never see him since I was a child.
