In October 2020, personnel from 4th Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment took part in training in Otterburn after their international exercise was cancelled. More than 100 reservists from 4 LANCS were scheduled to take part in Exercise Viking Star in Denmark until the coronavirus pandemic forced a change to their plans.
Instead, the reservists took part in live-fire tactical training in Northumberland as part of Exercise Resilient Lion 2. They simulated different scenarios that the British Army may face in future operations, with the recruits training in both the day and night time.

It's good to see the reserve are now passed that image of drinking clubs at weekends. You are a member of the British army and you should be trained to the same standard as a reg. Reservist just need to work harder then the regs because they have shorter training periods so you keep the standards of your regular units. Good to see good cam and con good Comms good section attacks using live good skills

@@UKUK-rv4xn yep I joined the army in 84 and I am still in today I have worked with the TA as they where on PSI jobs my regiment were up there with standards but alot of TA units were shocking. Now there has been a massive shift up in standards and training with the reserves. Going in the right direction

I remember the days of the TA coming to visit my unit in Germany for their 2 week camp. Nice blokes on a drinking trip. Definitely not soldiers back then. These guys are 100% more professional.

Fair comment. Agree re drinking clubs image, although I'd add that ex-reg contingent contributed to that heartily and it's not as if regs live like monks. I always felt that phys training should be no1 for res as it's far easier to cover trade training in a beat up mobilisation package than it is to turn a fat-nacker into a racing snake. I note, of course that skills like marksmanship need good time on ranges, so I'm not saying it's all easy ...

Dude I know this is old but the reserves are fully integrated with the regulars and go on the same deployments, so why would the kit be different?

@@aaront2131 It was only recently that most reg battalions got the newest kit so it wouldn't be unusual for reserves to have the previous gen

it's an honor to serve to join in the reserves fight as military police recruit volunteer and to reach the front lines and lay down my life and to give my all to this public service job with the females heroes and heroes in the uk military reserves police volunteer it's really an honor to serve with a heart of female hero and fallen female hero will of heart of mine for another friends and female friend to live for another except for mine and myself both at the same time aswell as that to let them and others in public services that have females and woman to let them know that they are not alone and that they have me and my life that i will give to them and why i gave them mine and my all is to be honored and remembered for what i lived for and what and why i died for aswell as that because this video is really inspiring me of what i can become in life wheh i join and die to have this and their world saved by me and only me so that they can realize why i need to be their and to be honoured their aswell because still it is not about me it's all about being a public servant and a fallen servant aswell laying down my life for all others except for myself in this life that i am living in right now still dieing youngest teenager in public services in the uk as a fallen female hero soldier and public servant and heart clean soul and person aswell to always being there for the females and women also male recruits aswell letting them live except for me in the british army reserves camouflage public services public servant to join this and send and pass it on to them please this message please thank you from cheyenne thompson 22yrs old uk

2 Lanc's looks a good regiment not excessive unnecessary screaming and shouting so the soldiers can take on board and assimilate the information more quickly and probably develop faster. That's why 2 Royal Anglian was a good, no great regiment.

Yeah but they get accommodation and food paid for them while training, and take it from someone who hates their job, getting paid less to do something you love would be infinitely better.
