Your story is so touching, Jen. My 30 year old daughter was incarcerated for 3 1/2 years and still had about 8 months to go. She was found dead in her bed one morning on Jan. 19th 2020. Supposedly she passed from viral menigingitis suddenly according to the autopsy. I can't help but listen to your story and think of her. I miss her so terribly bad. R.I.P Kayla Rose-Marie Blair🌹❣

I applaud you for telling your story. My drug of choice was alcohol. I would drink until I passed out. Finally after my second DUI with the judge telling me that if she saw me in her court room, I would go to jail and having six months of ignition interlock which you have to blow into before your car will start, I decided I was going to stop. May 19, 2002 was the last time I drank.

Girl, I should. It would shed a massive spot light on a lot of things. Sometimes we have no choice in what happens to us. The only thing we can do is fight back and make sure that we come out on top. I for one never seen, what happened to me, coming a mile away. I hadn’t the slightest clue that’s where I would end up. The only thing I thought of when I touched down in that hell hole, get home and stay home for good. Then I endured some of the most traumatic stuff a person could ever go through, but guess what…it didn’t get the best of me!!! I survived that shit too!!! Today, I choose who’s in my life, and who’s not. The people who are in my life today, would never do such unspeakable acts to someone as loving and as loyal as me. This channel has done so much for my life, it ain’t even funny!!! ❤️ love ya girl! Hugs sent. Huge ones!!!

Jen... I don’t know how many people would have the balls (pardon the expression) to come out & be so open & honest about past experiences that took them from the “highest of highs” to the “lowest of the lows”. The stories you’ve told so far have helped increase my level of love, respect & admiration for you. I hope that this can help many people who may be struggling with addictions to overcome them & quash any beliefs that people get about life in prisons from tv & movies. Stay strong & most importantly... Keep being YOU ❤️☝️😍❤️

I really enjoyed this story! I've only been in jail once, for like 36 hours. It certainly was an experience. Like you said, don't go, but I can see how it could be very rehabilitative. You get separated from all the things that got you there, time to reflect, and an opportunity to start over. I think you're right that we could do a lot more with our justice system. Maybe not put murderers and maimers in with the nonviolents.

Thx for sharing. I have your 2 drug related testimonies saved to watch later, as that subject of addiction is personal to me, and I need to prepare mentally to hear those types of stories. People in trouble, or on the verge of, need to hear these testimonies not only as a preventative, but also to prove that things can change for the better, and though it takes a ton of work, addictions can be beaten! Never give up!!!!

Remarkable story Jen. As one of your subscribers I’m very proud of you. I know your not going back to that lifestyle because you had the courage to face your past, to talk about it, and now you’re trying to help and inspire others. I have a friend who was in a similar situation, she turned her life around, went back to school, and now she is a successful business woman. Her motto is “If you judge me by my past, I’ll leave you in it”. Set your goals high and go for them. You will succeed because you’re remarkable.

I spent 5 days in county for driving on a suspended license. I was on Fentanyl for injuries and nerve damage I suffered in the military. I used the lockup as a chance to get off that Fentanyl patch because every three days I felt like I had the flu. Coming off that patch was crazy hard and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Glad you made it out of your situation alright.

I have a brother living in a rehab center in mexico, he is an ex-meth addict that changed his life around and found his faith from god. My sister was into drugs, spent time in city jail (right next to cell with girls dance team serial killer). She's spent time in county jails an state prisons. Problem now with her is she seems to be a narcissist, full of negative hate, screaming 99% of her conversations. She wants to judge everyone else but herself? She holds herself above everyone, feeling she better. She's living in a van homeless, but still thinks she is better than anyone! How do you help someone like this? How do you even want to help someone like this?

This was very interesting. I did a little bit of an internship at a local federal prison. I worked under the psychiatrist in the drug ward, supposedly the toughest ward. So many stories I could tell even though u only was there for a couple if weeks. But, the main thing I saw was how much disrespect the workers had for the inmates. They are supposed to be in there to rehabilitate but they treat them like dirt. They treated me the same, too. But the inmates were always very respectful to me. Yes, they need to do their time. But we should show them how to live respectfully n mannerly. I am glad I wasn't there long...maybe two or three weeks

Lol When you mentioned your friendship with the girl you fought yes I remember some of the most brutal street fights I had in school and whatnot. Win or lose and I mean we went hard. After that there was the nod , What's up, real mutual respect. Because when you really fight someone you both went through something serious and emotional and scary together. There is no feeling like that respect you both have for each other. Some of them became good friends

There is something seriously wrong with the American prison system - it makes inmates suffer and tries to act as a deterrent, but does nothing to prepare inmates for their eventual reintegration in society after their release. I much prefer the Swedish system, where they even have some open-air prisons for prisoners that commit to bettering themselves, to coming out a better person after serving their sentence... You really had the misfortune of getting locked up in the wrong country -.-'

I tried listening and watching this because I like your videos and wanted to hear your story but I just couldn't and that was all over Ohio. My brother got busted for distribution in Ashland county and is still currently serving a 14-year sentence. So I respect what you had to go through and that you made it out the other side. It isn't easy I know.

Hi! Jen! Thanks so much for making this video. How did you deal with female inmates having a crush on you? Did they force you to be in a relationship with them?

Thanks for sharing. I had a girlfriend for 2 years, she was in prison the whole time. I grew up next door from her, so we have known each other our whole lives. Same stuff like you said. I put money on her account. Money on her phone. Buy her stamps so she can send messages on JPay tablet. Visit her. But it was difficult. I didn't like all the men guards at a women's prison. Of course I'll worry about that. But she had a hard time having a relationship because she is in there and it didn't feel real to her sometimes. We broke up. Stopped all contact. She gets out in about a year. Don't know what the future holds. Thanks for sharing your story.

Wow, Jen... I can see that you've tasted, "HELL", and, i'm so sorry for that!!! I'm 64 year's old and, i was locked up for three day's, a weekend and, i was going out of my head... that was , NOTHING compared to what you had to go through. My life wasn't that bad but i kind of had the same problem's that you had, but not as bad as you had them. I wasn't on heroin but i had a bad problem with cocain, i was addicted to it for five solid years, i had a bad problem with POT, i smoked it for thirty years, cigerates i smoked them for forty years, i did all the other drug's, "To, Fit, In with everybody else". So i, Understand everything you've gone through. I'll say it again... MY HAT'S OFF TO YOU, YOUNG LADY. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. LOVE YA, JEN BYE.

I worked in a drug treatment residential program. People like you should have had house bound mandated daytime drug recovery and treatment for the time that you were given. There is no need for a prison stay such as what you describe.

I was shocked to read the inmate roster in Old Yuma prison in AZ they had so many women for sexual crimes against children. I guess people really don't change in a few hundred years.
