Good doctrine and exposition of scriptures critical. That has to be balanced against looking for a church that doesn’t just fill your needs, but rather, has a need that you can help meet (Ephesians 2:10). Two things kept me going when I was active: forming friendships and making a contribution. My current church doesn’t meet either of those needs, and I’ve lost all motivation to attend. We’re very rural, so there’s nowhere else to go.

Hello, cheriejones, I live in NW and belong to a church in NW. The church is Baptist. Predominantly Filipino. I am black American and believe that I am where God wants me to be for such a time as this. The leadership is scriptural sound, even though we have been looking for a pastor for 6 months. We have visiting pastors until God sends us our permanent pastor. We share the church building with Wisconsin Ave Baptist church in Tenlytown. We meet on Sunday from 2pm until 4pm. We are Agape Baptist church. We would love to see you on a Sunday. 😊

Brother Corey, I agree with your conclusion, but there are quite a few errors you make in explaining the Greek Syntax. The most obvious one is when you called the aorist tense “the past tense”. No Greek Grammarian will agree with this statement in the current scholarship of Biblical Greek. The aorist is an undefined action that is remote in aspect. It can be used (often) to refer to an action in the past, but it is not “past tense” as default. It is the tense of summary, without regard to time. Another example is your explanation of the “participle”. You said the participle means an “ongoing action”, but this is not accurate. A participle is only ongoing if the aktionsart is progressive. There are many aorist participles used in the GNT that are not progressive. A participle is a verbal adjective that modifies a substantive. It does not mean an ongoing action by default.

Brother Corey, the bible says that Jesus spoke so that a child could understand. Let us be careful in our sharing, not to over complicate what John 3:16 so clearly states. "For God so loved the world..." The lost need to hear the simplicity and power of that message which is the gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you.

Nice stuff but very complicated, and who is the gospel for? For God so loved the world or only the believing ones? I was told you are not Calvinist, but pretty much this whole video was simply that. I’m not Calvinist but I truly believe in eternal security in Christ Jesus. Corey you did not at anytime in this video or talk about how Jesus coming was for anyone, that anyone can believe, but you stated many times the reason why Jesus was sent was for the believing ones. My brother in Christ, I’m so happy you’re not a Calvinist (sarcasm). Now I am not against Calvinist, I don’t intentionally divide on this, but my friend this video was not completely accurate on John 3:16 because we didn’t hear the love of God for the world that people would not perish. The message of John 3:1-21 is that God loves the world, anyone, that Jesus was sent for the world, and the world meaning anyone can trust in Jesus and BECOME born again. You mentioned a couple times regeneration from the Spirit so they (the believing ones) would be drawn to Jesus. Where’s the love of the Gospel for the world ie anyone to not perish but have eternal life? Lord bless, Kelly

I believe I carried forth the message that Jesus was stating. Though God loves, his point in this was to show how he demonstrated his love. The goal of John 3 is showing his work in saving mankind.

Why brother? ”But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.“ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬ ”For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.“ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

People want to control the mechanics of salvation to cut people off by making things match their beleaf system and not make sure that beleaf matches how YHWH does thing because He never changs His system of working. If YHWH ever changes how He does things, he is not worth worshiping because He is a liar. GOD forbid because we are unfaithful, but this was His plan from the beginning.

I have a question, this may sound confusing to y'all but PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG. After listening to Pastor Gino Jennings sermons about the Trinity and how it's a lie and when he explain it with all the scriptures, does it mean that Jesus is God/the Father/the Creator/ Alpha and Omega, and he is a spirit, he came down as a Son, (in human form, when he was born) just to be an example for all humanitv and as well as the Son part being an example for humanity and it also indicates us as well as sons/daughters of God, believe the reason why he said that "Be holy as my Father in heaven in is holy" because he saying it as a son (human form) like we would say it "I'm holy because my Father in heaven is holy) for an example and that we should serve God and obey God, and the Spirit part, he is a spirit and he will be a spirit inside of us all to help us obey the word of God and do the will of God. Jesus came as a Son (human/man form) to died on the cross to pay debts for sins once and for all. He gave himself as a sacrifice for our sins according to Hebrew Am I'm correct? Again, please correct me if I'm wrong Thank you and God bless y'all.

I can understand your concern because the way God reveals Himself is difficult for us to understand- this is because He is unique and there isn’t anything we can compare Him to. In short, the belief that Jesus is both God the Father and the Spirit in different forms is a heresy (false teaching) called modalism. God does not exist in different FORMS. He is a plural being- being three DISTINCT persons with the SAME IDENTITY. God the FATHER is a Spirit but He is separate from Jesus the SON, Who is also different from God the Spirit. Now this doesn’t mean that there are THREE GODS. It would seem that way to us because if I say, for example, that I am a different person from you, then you would understand that we are two completely DIFFERENT beings, right? However, we know that there is only ONE God. He says so over and over in the prophets and the Law. However, when you see the LORD show up, He shows up as a visible human form, while the Spirit exists at the SAME time, all while the voice from heaven speaks. That’s one of the clearest examples of all Three Persons showing up. The other is just the definition of the word ELOHIM which is the first name of God we learn in Genesis 1- that word is a PLURAL word. In English, that means two or more, right? However, in Hebrew, the plural is three or more objects/ persons. Therefore, even though there is one God, He exists as Three distinct but equal Persons. Hope that helps.

They "thought" they believed in Him, but He never knew them? How can one believe, but not believe really? How hard must one believe to "really believe"? If once saved always saved, yet they did not stay thus showing they never really believed or didn't believe rightly? More confused than ever. The foundation of this ministry has been for a while (see parable of the fig tree) and continues to be the wisdom of man. God may use Greek to help with our understanding but it will never replace the Holy Spirit of Christ that searches the mind of God. Never appears to be evidence/testimony of the Holy Spirit in this ministry either. Test every spirit including the one that gives confidence to the teachings on this channel. The apostle Paul was just as learned as the Pharisees but only one was truly of God in Christ. The majority of the individuals who crucified Christ understood and spoke Greek better than any American today yet what did that change concerning the true understanding of scripture at the time and their knowing/relationship with the Father as they crucified The Prophet, the Son of God?

@bugsocsollie1694

Yes, but in context, Jesus was there to fulfill Israel's prophecy (Romans 15:8). And their prophecy did include them being a light unto the Gentiles during a time of darkness (Israel's 70th week, Tribulation, Jacob's trouble). Isaiah 60:1-3. (Which is what the 144,000 Jews are doing and the Great multitude of believers through Israel). But you're right. Their Gospel had nothing to do with Him dying. Neither did the Church that He said He built on the Rock. So their prophecy and doctrine did include Gentiles, but the Gentiles were never said to be getting the Holy Spirit, which is why they were shocked when the Holy Spirit fell on Gentiles. Acts 11:15-18. They were never told this, until after Paul was converted. God is still doing something new.
