Hello Old friend, it was “cyber bullying”, people didn’t know because she didn’t show it. Either way, just because Megan could’ve possible went to their school doesn’t mean that they were “best friends” or even talked to each other.

Hello Old friend they mean the woman speaking, not Megan. And it’s not their responsibility to know what’s going on in someone else’s life, don’t try and blame them for something that would’ve been out of their control.

Diagnosed with depression in 3rd grade! This is so sad, I can't believe children could be so cruel. I was on the edge of tears when she recalled her last words to her. This is also an example of how words are more powerful than people think. RIP Megan, I hope you're doing well.

Mind Meow I remember when I first heard this awful story. I had just lost my dad to brain cancer like exactly a week before Megan’s suicide. My mom had just heard of this after she’d watched the news. She came downstairs to let us know about this terrifying tragedy. Although I never knew who she was I was outraged and felt horrible for this family. I still remember this, and it still haunts me even to this day. REST IN SWEET HEAVENLY PEACE MEGAN! The listening part made me break down in tears. You are so right. All kids need is a listening ear. My parents reacted the same way. Ignore the comments, ignore the bullies. Ok I'll come to your school. I had the same reaction and told my parents stop you're gonna make it worse! I never had a listening ear at school or at home. I had to go through a lot of trauma on my own and I had to be my own therapist which was so tough. I have 2 daughters now and the thought of my daughters being bullied terrifies me so badly. I hope I can be there for them and listen the way they need me to... I never want them to internally suffer the way I did...

Very powerful message and the story is really moving!! But the thing is, even though my parents talked to me when i was being bullied last year, they would blame me to talk to these kids on social media. They didn't protect me at all, they only sent me who a psychologist when it was already too late.. Guys! If you are being bullied, TALK to someone! Don't hide your feelings! I know its hard but believe me, you will feel better when you have shared your problems with somebody! I wish you all the best❤️

The thing is that when we were children we had grandparents that listened. With neighbours children I always said to them if you would ever like to talk about anything, even about your parents, my door is always open to help you, through what you are working through. The children appreciated that opportunity being offered to them, that they had a bouncing board other than their parents and their partners. Sometimes children will listen more to another adult that they respect, more than they will listen to their parents, especially in teenage years. I agree that it is about validation, but most of all it is about listening to what they would like to share in the way that they would like to share it. Some cases are very serious, and sometimes their peers at school are not trained or mature enough to support those children, although children like to think that they have friends, and they like to feel that they belong. It is a very sad fact indeed, that over 70% of Americans, are 'bullied' in school, relationships and or the workplace during their lifetimes. That % is incredibly high, so although 'bullying' happens in most schools, its a much bigger issue than that in the USA. America has been a 'bully culture', and we have seen that in the rest of the world with their foreign policy and 'hostile takeovers' of companies. The culture has to change, and as we know the 'bullying' began with the 'bullying' of the native Americans, that still goes on today. That is what the USA was built upon, the destruction of 'men, women and children'.

parents not listening to what they're child is going through and focusing too much on the behavior is the main reason why bullying and cyber bullying is such a big problem today still!! like Tina said , parents like to think that they're a good listener and everything but they're not , they either will say " just ignore it" or i'm going to fix it" my mom was one of those moms who wouldn't let me handle anything on my own cause of my LD but now that I'm in my 30s she has backed of from that tremendously and now trusts me to handle certain situations on my own with no help and now we can talk about most anything . Like she said it can be done if parents learn to slow down , put they're own thoughts and feelings aside and just be there to listen and most importantly validating what we're going through then we will in turn open up more.

Bullying is a power struggling from strong(abuser) and weak(victim) so abuser must not do such kinds of their own emotional problems on weak one and also weak one(victim) also get out from that power struggling process with self-defence and love to own self. And also people around him or her should not neglect these kinds of situation that can make our surroundings to toxic environment.

The ONLY way to end bullying is to TEACH the bully that their behavior is WRONG! The only way to do that is to HELP the bully recover from their own personal issues. TO keep the bullying from returning, DO NOT ABUSE THE BULLY FOR THEIR PAST MISTAKES once they HAVE changed their behavior...

They learn it and they’ve retaught it. But the truth is is they protect district predators and bullying is a symptom of it.

Don’t ever let him feel powerless. Help him find the strength to rise above them. Let him know he’s not alone either. Good luck.

Considering anti-bullying efforts (in a very rough quote from a non-remembered source) "Oh, there aren't strong and there aren't weak [and] isn't it [a good idea] that the bullied person find out which group he/she is in and what to do about it." Sad but true. However, some victims of bullying decide to use violence against the perpetrators. Just sayin'
