I think it is David 8. It is possible given the timeline, it might be easy for him to manipulate people using religion given his experience with Shaw. He believes that androids are superior to humans. He is cynical as well. It is also possible in regards with Ridley timeline. Also, the creatures, which came from holes seem to be created from embryos tossed into them. David has the biotechnology enabling him to create such creatures. Oddly enough, Michael Fassbender produced a movie Calm with Horses (2019) with actors who play original Campion and Sue. Also, let's not forget the hooded figure in rags in the mountains moving a little bit like android - with superhuman strength, but with very humane silhouette. The planet might contain some technology of the engineers and he might know how to use it.

The Artifact cube may house an inteligence that is trying to create itself a host body or a companion of sorts - "I've been alone for so long" Also, it may have the power to project its thoughts over vast distances like space and could have manipulated humans on earth to come to K22b. Probably an AI that was made by the aliens of kepler 22b planet. The AI destroyed those aliens and or degraded some to primitives..the weird creatures. And now its kind of lonely.

I heard father, as far for the rope I just thought it wanted Campion to escape. As far as Kepler-22b it has the vibes that there was a previous civilization there that doomed itself. I mean the ground is radioactive (farming products were radioactive from the soil). Further evidence in the bones of large worm animals being on the topsoil is strange, if this event occurred many years ago they would most likely be buried- or maybe they couldn't survive near the surface due to radiation. There's that previous remnant building they found. That and there's only 1 "Tropical Zone", this is very strange and may indicate a singular zone spared the effects of whatever mass event ended the previous civilization. I'm probably way off but I think a mass extinction event occurred (involving radioactive sources). Those giant worms burrowed to extreme depths to escape it and those tunnels were used by some of the peoples of the previous civilization to escape the doom and they proceeded to turn more feral or to their more primordial historical from (like if modern day humans went back to the stone age). Whatever entity(probably android/artificial in nature) pulling these stunts on Kepler-22b might have been the one to cause this event, or witnessed it and now has decided to rule inhabitants on Kepler-22b to paths it believes to be proper after either killing or witnessing the destructive tendencies of a previous biological ruling civilization.

Human civilization must have sent some kind of rover to collect data to determine its viability as a colonial planet. Great theory - agree with pretty much everything... one thing I would say is that if the planet houses an advanced a.i., it would need a power source which could be the electromagnetic field - it's possible that's where it's main 'hub' is... Re: the creatures - I thought initially that maybe the kids that died and were buried had somehow been mutated by the planet and that they were the kids... would explain the human-like face and 'pork' taste.

My theory is that there are humans with different levels of devolution on Kepler because the snake creatures summonned them at several points of history to bring fresh DNA and then left to their own devices... That's the reason the intermediate humanoid tries to kill Mother before she can release the newborn to the world. Kepler is a planet hostile to humans and they keep devolving because of a lack of proper nourishment, different atmosphere and gravity etc, while the snake creatures keep resurrecting themselves with updated genetic material from all around the universe... In the other hand I think Kepler is a planet with a Solaris-like core that is sentient (this explains the resurrected Tally and the mouse) and is trying to manipulate the characters into doing its bidding, and those giant tunnels are there for snake transportation, basically is a planet tailored for giant flying sentient telepathic snakes (Quetzalcoatl?). Finally, I think the dodecahedrons are basically snakes "soul tombs" awaiting for incoming humans to provide the tools needed to revive them with upgraded bodies! So, what do you think, amirite or wat?

This is my theory: 1. Humans traveled to that planet a long time ago. 2. The humans devolved into the creatures we see, and the AI evolved into the intelligence that is behind the things that are happening in the planet now. Note: If we take special relativity into consideration, the first humans could have arrived thousands of years before the events of the series. The radiation in the planet helped speed up the process. Maybe humans tried a new civilization there and failed and that's how the intelligence knows they are hopeless.

Also I think the simulation pod is sort of the Apple that Eve is tempted to bite as it unlocks her archived memories or hidden knowledge. It would be funny if the pods were made by Apple lmao.

I think the religious angle of the show is the most important for where the story is going

My only issue with this is , The rapist heard the voice on the ship GOING to Kepler 22b , and Marcus heard it when they got there. And tally didn’t start appearing either until after the other humans landed. So How did the intelligence speak to the Rapist?

I always watch everything with subtitles (I highly recommend using them on all shows), and I noticed on multiple occasions throughout the season where they were just wrong, even one or two spelling mistakes. Wasnt as bad as the auto-generated ones though (I highly recommend NOT using them, though they can be hilarious sometimes).

Most likely humans came to earth from Kepler as they were running away from something. Also Mithraics built androids, they found instruction in their holy scriptures but they didn't know how they worked. It was mentioned in one of episodes.

So your suggestion that life on Kepler-22b is old could also support your idea that whatever exists there has seen all this before. It might be an interested plot twist if Earth was populated by Kepler-22b after humanity almost destroyed itself. That the only thing left on Kepler was some kind of artificial intelligence that is potentially hundreds of thousands or more years old. When humans come back after doing the same thing to earth, that might explain the comment about humans being a dead end doing the same thing over and over again. This could end up being as you suggest a struggle between AI and humanity. There is also a possibility that the original Campion may have moved his intelligence to an android and boarded an even faster ship holding just himself, beating both parties to Kepler-22b. He is the "host".

The show is reminding me of Star Trek God of Sha Ka Ree. Star Trek The God thing. Pretty much some supernatural being that is pretending to be god just to get humans to do their bidding. Even though he is powerful, he is not omnipotent but instead pretending to be omnipotent. Just a guess.
