Watches are an essential part of the James Bond iconography. In part one of a two-part series, I discuss what makes a Bond watch a Bond watch.

Great discussion! One of my favorite things about being part of the Bond fandom is all of the individual areas of interest that the series incorporates, and the watches are certainly a big part of the “lifestyle” wing. With all of the historical/analytical Bond writing out there, I’m surprised there hasn’t been a book just about his watches (or if there is, I’m not aware of it).

Watches are a passion of mine. I currently have three Bond watches in my collection.

Y'know, I was wondering when you'd be doing your next video, and bam, it's in my notification feed! Love the video! I do think it's interesting to see how Fleming's life influenced Bond, especially with the watches. I'm also in the same boat about the Moore-era Seikos. Seemed really cool when I was a kid, but now I've never purchased one, but have an Omega as my Bond watch. Wearing my Seamaster Pro 300M from the Brosnan era while watching the video today. Looking forward to Part 2!

It would be nice, but I don't have a lot of time to devote to editing (and I record/edit/upload on my phone), so compromises are made. This is a low-fi channel!
