They took it over an hour away with ALL of my tools to make any money and everything of importance, and said even same day, i can have my stuff but I have to make an appointment, bring any keys, fobs, etc I own, and pay 125 and THEN they'll let me get all of my personal belongings. This was Monday and its now Friday and I've just got a vehicle able to haul it all but am short on finds now and don't feel I should have to pay the 125

Seriously? Most repos are not because you've missed a payment by a couple days or even weeks. Most repossession orders from reputable credit companies like GMAC, FoMoC, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America are posted after the loan is 60 days in arrears or more. Multiple avenues of contact have been exhausted, and the loan company sees no other recourse than taking the car/truck/suv back and selling it at auction to recoup some of its capital that's tied up in the vehicle. I repo'd for GMAC back in the 90s and a couple small BHPH lots tied to the area I was working. Most, if not all vehicles, I went after were 90 days or greater in arrears with GMAC and 30 days plus with the smaller BHPH lots. These vehicles were repossessed mostly from people who very clearly had no intention of paying on the vehicle after they got them. Wanting a free ride for as long as they could keep it.. Most of the BHPH vehicles were no longer operable at the time of repossession due to intentional or negligent care for said vehicle. The results of such behavior are, higher interest rates, more stringent loan qualifications, and less than idea vehicles being dumped into the market at a premium cost. Right now, July 7th 2023 some 17% of all vehicle loans are currently at or exceed 60 days delinquent for cars 2015 and newer.. And with 1.7 Trillion in student debt, second only to mortgages, and unsecured debt, i.e. credit cards and personal lines of credit rapidly approaching 800 Billion dollars it is no wonder car loans are rapidly becoming the next great ripple in financial disaster for Americans..

All this can be avoided if you simply pay your vehicle loan or if in default you keep in touch regularly with the lender and don't lie to them. Also remember the bank can call the loan and demand payoff at any time once you default on the loan. No they don't have to give you 30 days. And If you piss them off or act like am idiot or play Google attorney with the repo agent the agent can recommend to the lender to ask for payoff due to a troublesome debtor.
