At the end, when Meryl said that Yuzuru isn't satisfied, I disagree with that statement. Yuzuru Hanyu is by far the greatest figure skater of all time. He is satisfied, he just hasn't met his goals yet: Yuzuru Hanyu wishes to become the first ever person to successfully land a quadruple axel, and when the time comes, he will land that quad axel. I know that, because look at how far Yuzuru has come: he has won two Olympic gold medals back to back, a four-time Grand Prix world champion, and a six-time Japanese national champion. Nobody will ever be able to compare to Yuzuru's achievements, because Yuzuru Hanyu is Yuzuru Hanyu; and that, is what makes him the greatest of all time.

I love it that he is always motivated to go one step higher than what he has achieved yesterday. He is an inspiration to the world.

It's too bad he struggled in Beijing, but at the same time it made me respect him more. Push those boundaries! Athletes who push themselves to raise the bar in their fields are what keep sports alive and evolving. One day he'll land it, and the next generation of skaters will have a new challenge to aspire to. He's elegant. He's innovative. He's humble. He's a great example both on and off the ice.

There will NEVER be anyone like him, it doesn't matter if other people break his records he will still be the greatest

I’ve never been into figure skating at all but 2 years ago I saw a performance by yuzuru and I’ve been hooked ever since. I just couldn’t take my eyes off the screen because his performance was beyond beautiful. I’ve watched every performance of him so far which can be found on the internet and I was never once disappointed. I would have goosebumps all over my body, yuzus ability to move people just by his performance is a true gift and talent. My heart really broke when he cried and said that he thought he put enough effort and training for this years olympics but his results didn’t satisfy him. He may not won a medal this year but the fact that Yuzuru Hanyu is the prince of ice and a true icon will never change. I hope he can feel how proud the whole world is of him.

There's a reason why Yuzu is so universally beloved by both his peers, the figure skating world and the wider world every 4 years. He's got a strong work ethic, a deep respect for his craft, his competitors and those around him, and yet is so humble about his own standing. Always pushing toward some goal off in the distance. He wants the entire sport to be elevated and he does so much to promote it. He's not only the complete package in terms of skill and artistry, but a once in a lifetime individual talent that one can't help but be compelled by.

Honestly he'll always be remembered as greatest of all time...I rem when I first saw him in 2018 winter olympics I'll never be able to describe that feeling and I just knew that I had to continue looking at him skate...he's just different and on another level

i love how he just keeps pushing himself to achieve his goals. he does not give up easily and that’s one of the many things that is so admirable about him. he’s so humble and amazing and loves figure skating so much and he shows it in every single skate he does. the way he takes care of everybody such as the younger Japanese figure skaters (such as Uno Shoma) and is friends with so many other figure skaters such as Jin Boyang from China shows just how many people admire him and how humble he is. he is full of passion, drive, respect, gracefulness and beauty in every skate he does and you just can’t help but be mesmerised by him. YUZURU HANYU, the icon and the goat, the ice prince. the ice KING. nobody can take that title away from him. he is, and he will always be the prince, the KING of ice. he is absolutely amazing. Yuzuru Hanyu, you are, and forever will be the icon of figure skating. ⛸💙

Yuzu made me love figure skating even I'm from a tropical country. I am not a very athletic person, but yuzu inspired me to try sports. I love his influence on me.

Literally only had tuned into the Olympics just to see him skate. No hate to the other athletes whatsoever, they're all amazing, just something about Yuzuru.. he's just so enchanting and almost intoxicating

I never talk about it but his dance and work ethic were one of the major things to help me out of a 7 years long depression 💖👑 Not sure what it is but something about him touches my soul deeply ⭐⭐⭐

This Olympics I really got the feeling that he wasn't there to even try and win gold, because he's already proven well enough that he could do that. He was there to perform and to advance the sport by debuting a 4A in the Olympics. It was really cool and showed how it doesn't always need to be about winning for winning's sake.

He shows his passion in figure skating with his graceful and elegant moves like he was telling a story and communicating to his audiences. He's really the G.O.A.T
