Nice man, I was 6 or 7 and still pour tons of hours into this game! Have managed to create many legends of the past in the game which makes it so fun

I had my own wrestling federation with wrestling toys. I remember one story i came up with was Al Sno becoming Vince McMahons right hand man and a succesful businessman Alan Snofield. I was close to making him my WWF champion but i just couldnt go through with giving him a win against The Rock. I was shocked 5 or 6 years later with how close it was to Bradshaw becoming John Brsdshaw Layfield.

Heck, it's beyond deep for the time. I've yet to play a wrestling game since then with a more involved story mode.

Al Snow and Steve Blackman's tag team was called Head Cheese. I think Al said it was because Steve was from Wisconsin. They used to wear the cheese hats so AKI made them giant weapons that make the same sound as steel steps xD

i agree. no mercy may have better gameplay but svr 06 is a bit like no mercy but has updated graphics and more fluid movements.

@@heavyhitter5538 IMO AKI's large library of hand drawn Wrestling, Puro, and MMA animatons were still better than Yuke's stiff hand drawn ones and the mocapped ones they were bringing in at the time. I'm not a fan of mo-cap moves. But tt's all to taste. I'm just glad AEW, Virtual Basement, Mdickie, Arcade Action Wrestling (formally the Chikara branded game), Retromania, and others are releasing games so there's finally options.

To be honest I'm not going to have high hopes for the Aew game because it might not live up to the hype. They only have one person who worked on No Mercy helping to develop the game. They need the whole aki team but hopefully the guy hasn't forgotten how to.develop that game engine.

@@jjthapyro4130 It's one guy, but the only person above him was the Prez/CEO/Executive Producer. Yuke's made a pretty serviceable engine used on the WWE Wrestlemania/Day of Reckoning games and Japanese exclusive PS2 games Wrestle Kingdom 1 and 2 and from what I can tell all they had was Shunsuke Katsumata, who was an AKI 3D animator and one of Geta's assistant directors on No Mercy and a sound guy named Takumi Kon. The most important part of Geta's engagement IMO is the design ideology that comes with him. He was in charge of fun, logical sim games and he *could* be the missing piece that takes Yuke's from the chore that is "beat down this opponent down until he's in the red---> Quicktime Event ------> Press A to lose to Big Show and watching long, canned mo-capped suicide dive animations to actually feeling like you're doing the moves yourself. Like the way you're able to do the Worm and People's Elbow yourself in No Mercy. Or things for intros like choosing walks and taunts for intros rather than while sections. I think that's what he brings to the table. And Omega already confirmed hand-drawn animations. An advisor like Geta and a team that works well together, a true AKI fan like Kenny overseeing it, and no publisher butting is the best we can ask for. I hope I'm not wrong but I've got my fingers crossed 😂😂

@@jjthapyro4130 Yuke's is making the AEW game with the No Mercy director Hideyuki Iwashita aka Geta-san as the development advisor. Kenny Omega said in 2.Show with Kip Sabian that they're looking to mesh his ideology with Yuke's'. I think this is the closest we're going to get to No Mercy 2.0. Kenny also gave the impression that he runs ideas by Geta and that he receives updates from Geta directly. Sounds like the project is good hands. Pulse broke down the trailer and though it's still early and they're not saying a ton about it, I'm pretty hopeful about the game.

Only flaw it the game was the length of entrances. Other that that it was sick.

Cool! I've started playing it just this month, playing some old N64 games, and realized I had somehow skipped this one. Playing on my phone with Xbox controller, but I absolutely love it!

If you have a Xbox you can emulate it thru Retroarch

Hell yea. Hideyuki Iwashita aka Geta-san is the developmental advisor! He was the director for the AKI N64 games and Def Jam Vendetta as well as working on Fight for New York and their Ultimate Muscle franchise. Yuke's is the developer. Fomer THQ employee Bryan Williams has been working for Yuke's for years now and he is a brilliant designer.

You could debug your WWF no mercy cartridge by playing as Scotty 2 hottie and doing the worm unless somehow worked as I used it and it never wiped again. Also you could put your create a wrestlers into the movie intro by copying your create a wrestler into a tire set for for the wrestler that you wanted to replace in the movie intro (example: when Edge is running down to the ring in the opening movie replace his attire set 4 with your create a wrestler and your create a wrestler will be shown instead of Edge)
