Hell nah. I had it on 64 and when I play the ps1 version it's definitely a step back
@SpinningSandwichКүн бұрын
THPS3 on N64 is more of a demake, and I don't know anyone who played it that way. Your criticisms are best directed at THPS1&2, because that's what we were playing. As far as N64 vs PS1, it's really a matter of full length songs vs shorter loading times. And please. Dreamcast barely counts. It was more of a PS2 competitor, and it killed Sega because no one had one. You may as well compare to THPS2X, which was surely even more impressive than the Dreamcast version of THPS2. Probably outsold the Dreamcast version too. Also, American SK8Land on the DS is the GOAT. All the mechanics of THPS3. All the charm of PS1/N64 THPS.

While today, in 2024, I still play thps original trilogy on my n64 without any problem, it is strange that I have never seen anyone playing those games on playstation or dreamcast nowadays. Why would it be?

I played rage on both PS3 and PC and had a blast both times. The DLC was also great and added in some amazing set pieces. I absolutely loved the towns. I think the lack of a map was actually a blessing in disguise since it makes you have to familiarize yourself with everything and really look around.

I played Rage when it came out (PC) and I actually really liked it. There was a big outcry about the texture streaming issues, but I barely noticed these issues myself luckily. My main complaint was, that I would have liked more depth to certain characters, but I just told myself „Hey, it’s not supposed to be an RPG, it’s an id Shooter“. Overall, I have fond memories of the game.

I think the N64 versions of Tony Hawk and most 3rd party games are accomplishments in themselves. As PS1 was lead platform due to popularity, it received the most attention and optimisation from publishers top AAA studios and most talented programmers. The N64 versions were farmed out to a smaller studios with less resources, reduced time, budget and had to deal with severe cartridge memory restraints: 8-12MB in most cases to fit a whole game including music/sound is insane. In addition to that the system was rock hard to develop for. Kudos to the team.

For slowing down, you need to engine break. Downshift going into the turns.

any one who calls rage a bad game has their head up their ass. The gaming world has created a generation of spoiled gamers that bark out orders at the devs, us og gamers bought a game and crossed our fingers it was good. and this game is pretty damn solid, like all other id games we didnt come for a mind blowing narrative, we came to kick mutant and bandit ass and damn do you feel like a badass when you do it right.

I dislike anything related to cars, racing or similar stuff, but this game was the first and the only one I liked in my entire life. Fun as heck. Unfortunately too short and seems will never be a remake. Hope someone can reverse and make a PC port some day.

Hey man, the colour palette is shot through with some deep reds and gleaming blues and some subtle greens. So since all these other colours make up about 9% of the palette combined, it’s more accurately described as a “diseased fecal smear”🤓

Rage’s intro..to me…is possibly one of the most emotive intro’s of any game that somehow failed to transfer into a compelling game. I played it as soon as it came out and I did finish it. I enjoyed it but came away feeling un-satiated. To this day I love it and yet feel it was such a wasted potential.

All Star Fox Assault needed were some branching paths to help increase the longevity of the game, and, suddenly, it would've been the best entry in the series. That game had everything that I wanted in SF64 needed but was missing from that game due to the N64's technical limitations. SF Assault had the best story of any SF game, too. It's too bad that this game is slowly becoming lost media due to Nintendo refusing to acknowledge this title. The more GCNs and SF Assault discs that stop working due to age, the more this game will disappear from the public eye. It doesn't help that Nintendo's new SF "continuity" (misnomer because that implies Nintendo is still actively making SF games) complete ignores SF Assault. I'd love to see a re-release, remake, etc on the Switch at some point. A new SF game inspired by SF Assault would be right up my alley, too. If nothing else, what I don't want to see from SF, if this series ever comes back, is another Godforsaken remake of SF64. SF64 is an amazing classic that I have fond memories of playing, but I'm sick to death of Nintendo falling back on a game from 1997 to keep SF marginally relevant. Seriously, enough of that game. It's insane how an entire video game franchise that was once associated with progress and evolution could become so dependent on a game that's not even from this century. If Nintendo did nothing with Mario but remake and re-release Mario 64 over and over, Mario would be a dead franchise by now. Thankfully, being their golden boy, Mario gets much better treatment than that.

Hi, I love playing in manual. Must be out of habit from doing the same in Cruisn' World, a game I'd own back in the day. Idk if playin in manual has any advantage at all, but it feels nice pulling it off correctly.

4:20 that's definitely NONSENSE.. i mean how the SaikouXS can be much mush faster than JerseyXS?? One of them is Supra and the other is Viper IRL.. both cars have same powers and because of that there must be an individual "Tier System" for each city but we also need another logic to start from the slower car to become a city champion :)

The devs should have found a way to calibrate and translate the D-Pad controls to better fit the N64’s analog stick. It would’ve been hard and different, but the additional work would’ve paid off

SSX Tricky is a great game but as someone who played the original it's really just a remixed version of the first game with some extra tracks but SSX 3 was the series peak and in my opinion was never beaten by any game like it since.

Is it the greatest game ever made? No. Is it fun in my opinion? Absolutely. The thing I like about this is with games like planet coaster, which I do like don’t get me wrong, it can be hard for people like me who aren’t creatively minded. The preset locations are a godsend and make building so much easier for me. Also the minigames are decent to play. Sure, individually the parts might not be good compared to other games, but combined I’d argue they make a pretty decent experience.
