This is one of the best so far! I LOL when you said do not expect to eat or drink the gift you give the host. That happens too often when we host. Not many know that rule. I giggle at their notion to enjoy it.😊

Hello! Thank you very much for your lovely comment! This just happened to me and the guest insisted I open their bottle of wine--it was generous of them to bring a gift, but I would have liked to enjoy it at a later time. However, I happily opened it and the guest was happy. Sometimes, you have to go with the flow! Thank you and I'd be very grateful if you'd kindly subscribe! Warm regards, Heidi💕

I love, love, love this channel. I hope the level of respect and etiquette returns because it truly has diminished over the years. Thank you for doing this.

When my Best Friend comes to visit me from Oregon, she always brings me a big jar of Marionberry Jam. It is indigenous to Oregon, and I can't find it in my State. I love it and it means so much to me. 😊

I just found your videos, and of course subscribed, and I have to say I truly appreciate them. I really love that you touch on other cultures and customs which is often not the case when etiquette is taught. I am of mixed race from Canada , baptized cristian , and my husband is Caucasian, from France and Muslim. No one would assume he was Muslim and so these common mistakes can be made and HAVE been made in regards to alcohol. I really appreciate that you teach methods of etiquette that are pertaining to the whole world and not just what the européen world considers etiquette which is quite often the case.

Ialways beleive in bringing in a gift and not showing up emty handed. Even if its not fancy and you are just a regular working joee. I like the idea of a candle, candy , a book etc. On my level its a 12 pack, potatoe salad, or a pie. I was raised to have good manners. and to bne polite. I came here to check etiquete. Which I beleive is imprtant to learn.

Hello Heidi, i have a question? What about desert? Can i bring fresh baked desert as a gift?
@HeidiDulebohn1

Hello Christelle! Thank you for watching and apologies for the slow reply. Yes, a lovely baked dessert is a great host gift if your host is expecting it. If this is a surprise, don't expect them to automatically serve it, they may already have a dessert planned and prepared. Top tip is to let your host know what you're bringing and they can assimilate that into their menu. It sounds wonderful, I'd love to receive a gift like this! Thank you and I'd be very grateful if you'd kindly subscribe. Warm regards, Heidi💕

Culturally aware !!I ask you,I once recall an Aussie turning up for dinnah at a colleagues house, carrying a vintage 2006 red Penfold unopened !well Dinnah went well,however the host did not decant ,but put it aside for another day and served an inferior but acceptable big Aussie Red, the visitor took umbrage at not being offered his gift as irrigation for the free range fillet mignon, a shouting match ensued,taxi called ! Boot applied ! Horrendous horrendous, Now theres culture for you, the visitor was Dutch of course
