DISCLAIMER: I do believe the mother killed Adrianna She was actually a nursing ASSISTANT, so she probably had no experience in any sort of drowning incident since it’s not actually apart of the standards, and the mother would most likely have only worked in a nursing home feeding, bathing, etc. residents. Theory... maybe the daughter was deathly afraid of water because the mom would use dunking as some form of punishment? And maybe that day she got pissed and was holding her underwater and got so mad she killed her. And maybe that’s why she sounded panicky on the 911 call because she didn’t necessarily mean to take it that far, but was only worried about herself. I think if it was a planned murder she may not have done it in front of AJ?

I completely believe that little boy. The interesting thing about this is that he drew the scene as if he were floating ABOVE it watching it happen. That is CLASSIC dissociation. (I have been through something traumatizing and the same thing happened to me. I saw the scene as if I were floating above it watching it - every time I reflect back on it. My therapists have told me that this is dissociation.) So this is probably why he is confused about where exactly he was while it was happening. He CLEARLY watched it happen, but it was so traumatizing that he was only focused on what was happening to his sister and what a shitty mother he has and PROBABLY wishing that his mom would STOP and suddenly become a NICE LADY that he and his sister could trust. (I worded that really strangely, so I hope that makes sense.)

Just speaking from my own experience as a child who went through a traumatic event: I was molested as a young girl & I very clearly remember speaking to FBI agents and having to describe things by pointing to dolls or drawings. It was enough to convict a man and put him in prison. As a young adult the thought haunted me because I couldn't remember the actual event, only speaking to the FBI so I told my grandmother I was terrified that I lied as a kid & ruined someone's life. She told me she went to a judge and told him what I said but he then informed her he would not be overruling anything because I was not his first child victim. I imagine our little minds remember some details but just enough. We seem to forget much of it, as a protective means.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’m sorry that happened to me. In my recovery from trauma I am working in take out the power from a once time event. Because to remember it over and over it is more damage. So with my holistic therapist I am working on understanding. So if I remember is not to suffer again. I already suffered. Now I am understanding. And I see things differently. I understand that my mom was working a lot for feeding us. That my dad was sick, that they trusted a family friend. That my mom kick the man out of the house. That I can write my emotions, excersice, speak to a therapist, ask for help. Instead of felling bad or sad or angry when something triggers. And I know I see. And changes my way of how I explain and talk to my kids about how to care and treat them self and others. I explain that I am tired, that I need their help. That we are a team and that we can work together and have free time to play. Understanding that play is the work of the child. Using Montessori method. Where is in to make mistakes. It is how we learn. That if they don’t eat vegetables. I am offering to them. But they are owners of their bodies. And they can make the choice to eat it or not. Maybe next time. Maybe they like the color. Or just like my older kid. Make the salad but not eat it. It brought to my heart two things. When the lawyer said that his mom was is in that room. A.J. Turn his eyes so slow looking if that was true, and his hands squeezed his arm. And then he broke down. God we all broke down 😢with him. My body just feels chills. And the other is what trauma has his mom live with. Just the the lost of a child. What happened to her before having kids, why her life was so careless as her house? So please look around and see, open your eyes. This is your life now, some questions for you. Are you enjoy your life? What are you seeing now is how you want to live what is rest. Are you loving the people around you. Are you understanding your past. So you can live the present. And Yes! That is why is a 🎁. I’m going to bed. Sleep it is important part for feeling good the next day. For the body and the brain to recover. Sending kindness to all of you.

The fact that AJ grabbed the hand of a grown-up as his mom walked in the courtroom, HEARTBREAKING ,he wanted to save his sister, what a courageous child, scared and heartbroken ,he took the stand ,and even tho he loved his mom, he told everyone what his mom did

The most credible statement he made was the spontaneous one he made when his grandparents brought him in. He was clearly speaking about his own memory. I'm not sure she would not have been convicted without him. He cemented it for her, absolutely, but the medical examiner was pretty clear that this was not an accidental drowning. So happy to hear he was adopted and is doing well now. The one bright spot in a very tragic story.

When AJ grabbed the mans hand in court and broke down... that's when I realized how much abuse he had gone through. As someone who grew up with an abusive mom (she's getting better with time), I felt his despair. He was scared, but he also missed his mom and wanted that human touch and all of that for a kid is a lot to process. For AJ, that man reaching his hand out to him was affection and protection all at once. I'm so glad he's in a stable home now

That was so heartbreaking, and you could tell how scared he was by the way he just grabbed that man's hand so hard. It's so hard for kids this young because it's like you said, he was scared and his mom was clearly an abusive person, but it's so hard for kids to turn off that love they have for the adults in their lives. It broke my heart to see how overwhelmed he was.

@ジェーミー I mean...you just said that you don’t know what was going on with them, which is correct. How is it not understandable how he would feel that way testifying against his own mom? Kendall even said that supposedly the mom wasn’t nearly so frustrated or abusive to the son, because he didn’t have the ADHD. I think it’s perfectly possible that he was distraught over having to basically singlehandedly put his own mother in jail, even knowing what she did to his sister. That’s still his mom at the end of the day, and he was a 7 year old child.
@kaitlyndismuke9966
@kaitlyndismuke9966 3 жыл бұрын
@ジェーミー I guess the wording could be exaggerated, maybe “overwhelmed with love” isn’t the most understandable way to put it, but he was certainly overwhelmed by it all, whether it was with that love mixed with confusion for his mom who cares for him even though she killed his sister, or whether it’s straight up fear. It could be both, all of the above, etc. I can’t imagine for a second what that child must have been feeling, but I just think as a seven year old boy if he just had no relationship or even a bad one with his mom that that would’ve been touched on more in the case. But to me he seems like a normal kid, who watched his mom do something terrible to his sister, and probably has no idea how to feel about it, though he knew it was wrong thankfully and told someone. Another thing, as someone who is quieter and grew up with siblings with ADHD, I can say it is quite hard to deal with at times. For all we know his sister annoyed him at times with her behavior too, though obviously he wouldn’t kill her and immediately recognized the mom doing it as wrong. It might have all been very emotionally confusing for him, and that’s just how I interpreted everything.

I really feel when AJ said she got dunked more than once, the mother had done this on other occasions. The fact that little Adrianna was scared of the water, it is disturbing that she would do this as punishment or intent to kill her. Children do have moments that are hard to recollect especially over a period of time, but traumatic events stay with them throughout their lives. The things that are repetitive in AJ's story are most definitely true, and his mother is sorry she didn't get away with it, without AJ perhaps everyone would have thought it was an accident as she hoped. Brave little boy to have to go through this, I just hope he finds peace when he grows up.

This little boy did an amazingly strong boy. He had to remember one of his worst day. The attorneys had to ask questions and get the truth after some time has past. And kids this age can forget smaller details. When he realized mom was there, he wept. That he blocked his memory of mom speaks volumes. You don't block a parent's face unless something horrific happened by that parent. AJ's testimony is critical but needs to be supported by evidence, like the bruises on the girl's face. Other people testifying mom's rage, threats. In it's ENTIRELY, I AGREE SHE IS GUILITY.

I cried with aj, telling the truth to your abusers face and to have a softer, calmer personality as a whole, makes you feel bad easily and sympathetic and yes at that age it's possible due to always being in or around danger, children adapt easily even in neglect bcs their mom or dad is all they know and see and believe in.. The retelling where AJ says he was up in a tree makes me think of when you remember something traumatic and you feel like you're floating above your body, dissasociating. He might be had that sensation and translated it into "I was seeing this from on high" and the only time he's been high up was when he climbed a tree.

So, as someone who has suffered with dissasociation my whole life, AJ saying later on that he witnessed the scene from high up on tree says a lot. Sometimes, especially with children, if they experience something so hard to process and so painful, people can experience intense dissasociation which can cause a person to feel as if they have exited their bodies and are watching from a high up place. It's a way for the mind to literally try and escape.

But I remember sitting on the stairs and shouting to my mums friend how it had worked and I had made her jump and I was laughing my head off but my mum said none of that happened I fell straight away and she said she had to run downstairs and her and her friend had to start stopping me from choking

I feel like probably the reason why he kept contradicting himself was because he wanted to rationalize the situation to himself and potentially if he feels guilty for his sisters death to displace accountability from himself. Like if you listen to all the contradictions, like him being in the tree, they tend to place any potential "blame" away from him. Sounds like survivors guilt to me.

I can’t claim to know the situation between Amanda and her kids, but I’m extremely dubious about a six year old being such an important witness in this case. I watched AJ's testimony, and I felt so heartbroken for him. I have two kids, one who had ADHD as well. But he was the most lovable and sweet baby and I wouldn't have changed a single thing about either of them. Poor little Adriana spent her whole life hearing what a bad kid she was, and was punished constantly for simply being a normal child. My guess is her bedwetting and acting out was in reaction to the abuse and neglect she suffered at home. She likely never knew what it felt like to be loved. I agree with you.....on the stand, AJ was tired and it was normal for him to be confused at times. Yet he never wavered from his core story, which is how his mother pushed his sister under the water using her hand. Adriana could have easily stood up if she fell in, because she was taller than the water level. Also, the bruising found on her face sure look like they came from a hand keeping her submerged.
