My dad was a contractor for 23 yrs. Not being paid or not being paid on time is a pain. But you learn to go to court and not make your case worse. If the work is attached to the house, removing it can be considered destruction of private property. He always said that the goal is to get paid and not get even.

You can file a mechanic's lien on the property. If the lien isn't paid off, a foreclosure will force the homeowner to sell the property with part of the proceeds paying the contractor what he's owed.

Best thing to do, collect payment first then do the job. Or pay as you go. If don't pay, don't finish the next steps in the work project.

The guy has a right to be upset, she contracted with him to do the work but refused to pay for the job. That's money that he used from his own pocket to pay or had to borrow from credit card to pay for materials and labor and she screwing the guy out of payment that he will have to pay to everybody else. 😒

@@jaredlee6591 Newsflash: we are not barbarians, we have a justice system to handle problems like this. You need to get a grip buddy. I suppose, if somebody accidentally ran into your car, you’d beat the shit out of them, huh?
