I grew up speaking what many would call “proper” and black people would tell me “oh you act white.” And the white peiple in my school always told me that “I’m the whitest black guy they know.” Because of this I felt judged by both communities Growing up. Yes! I feel the same way. It’s annoying and frustrating when people think you’re talking “white”. But in my mind I’m like, “What the heck is talking white?”😒 Just because I grew up in an area that speaks a particular dialect doesn’t make me any less African American. Nah, I think the biggest thing missed is he said average, and he considers himself to be the average, which is good he's in school and getting himself a future. We need to have a conversation about how black men try to push mediocrity on high achieving black women. Like instead of keeping it pushing and finding someone who is both your preference and within your wage range, you try to get someone who’s in a higher tax bracket to settle for you because you like the aesthetic of that person. There is NOTHING wrong with Black men (or women) dating outside of their race. The issue is when you bash (punch down) on your race as the reason for dating others or others only. As for commitment. That sounds too much like sanity! I believe this kid is just parroting male podcast talking points. Someone probably expected him to pay for the date when he asked them out and that set him off. Truthfully, a lot of these black men want a girl who is in the top 10% of beauty in whatever environment they're in, but said girl has a huge pool to pick from. @@sking0707but racism and systemic are two words that exist without each other. Not All racism is systemic. Racism is under the discrimination umbrella, and under all discrimination exists levels. The levels are: internalized, interpersonal and systemic. To say black people are incapable of being racist - it’s just incorrect. They can treat themselves AND others differently because of their skin color and culture groups. Discrimination literally just means differential treatment based on a set of circumstances. The circumstance with racism is skin color and culture. So yes, everyone can be racist. Not all groups can oppress, but discrimination and oppression are not even close to the same thing

I cant tell you how many times i was told i talk like a “white” girl. So much so that when i was in middle school I genuinely loathed by black side while also loathing my white side (that being taught by family). It took me until halfway through high school to realize my races (both black and white) are not personality traits, they are a part of who i am and regardless of how i act nothing will change that so be myself at all times.

the problem with the small buisness one is often times that's the price they have to charge in order to keep their business open and get food on the table. most small businesses charge the bare minimum. the reason big businesses charge less is because they have access to more automated processes, which cuts labor costs. (theres a lot more to it then just that. but this is the basic idea)

I have some issues with the "make it easier to support black businesses" yes $25-$60 is a lot of money but if the hoodie is actual, GOOD, LONG-LASTING quality then that price range is like the average price across the market also most small businesses are way more ethical then fast fashion labor and Amazon. I grew up in the “ghetto” part of my city around a lot of black kids so I started to pick up their dialect and then once I got taken out of my school and but into a “better” school all the white kids made fun of me. they would call me the black Asian of the school and it was an awful time :/ I’m also not even Asian I’m Native American 😭

I had a friend that her family always put her down, she talked proper and actually studied with me. My mom fed her and even tho we were poor as well, any if my clothes that stop fitting me my mom would give it to her cause she was so skinny. My momma saw how her family treated her and told her they say those things because they are jealous of you. After she got to high school we couldn’t hang out much cause her brother and sister put they hands on me and my mom forbade it. My friend understood and the last I heard she cut off her family she went to school and then got married

It’s not necessarily believing that blondes/brunettes are lesser people or are unworthy of love, it’s just an aesthetic taste. But again idk, I’ve never been more or less attracted to a specific race. However, I think it would be similar to the case of many young white girls in America being attracted to Korean men, and I’m still on the fence about whether that’s ethical in it’s own right.
