I doubt it, he was probably played by Putin. The rebel troops could have acted without Prigozhin knowledge as agent of the Kremlin or he was forced to do so. The result benefits Putin since Wagner was becoming a nuisance and now they might be gone. And the fact that he was offered safe heaven in Belarus tells me it was supposed to happen that way. Only time will tell tbf. Putin won.
