Hi! I would be studying graphic design soon and I’m planning to get the 13inch Macbook Pro. How is it working out for you in terms of performance and storage (256gb) ?

It's definitely a lot better than what I had previously which was a 2015 Macbook Pro with only 128 GB which got annoying because I would keep running out of storage and have to scavenge through my files to delete what I didn't need anymore. With the projects I do, 256GB is just enough storage for me! I've always liked the quickness of Macbooks so it's great. I've had this one for about 3 months now. I will say that sometimes the fan on the laptop gets a little loud when it's handling a lot of programs but that's about it so far!

It’s great! I use photoshop with illustrator/itunes safari open and it runs smoothly. Might I add it does get a bit hot, but ensure it’s in a well ventilated area. Final cut pro is difficult overtime

512gb is the bare minimum for graphic design. The maximum would be 2 or 3 TB

Hey I am thinking of taking a whole year to self teach myself about graphic design and everything that revolves around it. And my question is…Is there anything else that I myself may need as a stationery that I need during this self taught journey?

Since all colleges teach things differently i suggest you check your college's plan for the career and if u can, ask someone that has studied the career in the same college or someone here might help (im not from usa so i feel like things could vary) buut from my experience, you might need to learn some things om your own, if you have design styles you want to explore do it! don't wait for the classes:) like in Illustrator, photoshop, animation - if i had the chance to take a gap year i wouldve done that! I'm also a junior rn but i hope that helped!
