Funeral director in wayne county Michigan. Glad youre staying safe. I built my grip from the ground up because I couldn't afford the eckels kit but we have 99% of the same stuff. I serve a 50/50 community so I have more diversity in my grip and its just as messy as yours. Hazards of the job. Fyi my funeral home is literally 15 minutes from eckels in Livonia and we are 80% eckels. Love their products and fluid. Sending much love from Detroit metro area and hang in there.

I know that it’s a different type of makeup, so it probably lasts way longer, but there’s probably no “finishing spray” for a lengthy period of time, right?

Great seeing you again! Very interesting tips and hints here. I was just wondering about cross-contamination between using on living vs. deceased individuals. Do you use any of your work kit for your own use? I would hope you kept your own personal make up separate from what you use on the deceased clients. Very interesting work.

I’ve also explained that our makeup reacts to our body heat and that’s why we need the different mortuary makeup. I love the rubber band idea! Do you use the rose tint?

Do you ever have to use the on infants or children?

So there’s obviously a functional difference, but is there a big ingredient difference between mortuary and regular makeup? Would you find ingredients that wouldn’t be safe for living people because health isn’t a concern?

Do families bring in their deceased family members lipstick they loved wearing. Also do you clean the brushes between clients. And could you put fake nails on a deceased person. What If a female isn’t being viewed but the family wants them dressed and made up like they are going to the oscars. Can you do that? When I die I don’t want to be viewed but I want my hair , make up and fake press on nails on! And false eyelashes! 😂
