I use a DJI Mini 3 Pro and Im really happy with it. For me its the best travel drone because of the size & and the great quality of the footage. Cool video👍🏻

Great video Stephanie and appreciate your doing this! I'd been thinking about getting the 16mm 2.8 lens so this is helpful. And I'd love to hear more about your experience with the Canon R6 and why you love this vs other Canon options out there (and, yes, I need to search your prior videos to see if you have already done one on it.). Thanks! Hope to see many more videos in the future (still trying to get caught up on your past ones since just found this channel).

Thank you!! You're so kind! Just know the the 16mm is super wide so it can get wobbly in videos very easily lol! Regarding the R6, I never made a video for this camera but it's been on my mind to make a video titled "how r6 changed my life" for a long time 😂 But really though, upgrading to mirrorless + full frame (my last camera was the Canon 80D) is life-changing- just so much more light. And the "good" thing about sticking with canon is that, we really don't have a lot of options LOL. You kinda just decide based off of certain criteria and the budget. But mainly, R6 is a great camera for both photography and video, which is very important to me! If I get another camera, it would either be R6 mark 2 or R5 :p

Great video, Stephanie! Interesting to know what's in your travel camera bag. The must lens for me would be my Sony GM 16-35 f/2.8 to capture wide to normal focal lengths, and the Sony 85 f/1.8 for compressed detail shots. If I need a 50mm equivalent focal length, I put my A7IV to APS-C mode which crops from 33MP to 14MP. 14MP is still good enough, when you consider 4K videos only uses around 8MP. I also love my Minolta 80-200 f/2.8 (it's actually my favorite lens!), but it would be too big and heavy for travel. My Sony 85 f/1.8 is much lighter and smaller. Have a wonderful trip to Italy!

with your work you have to get the sony fx3...low light, full frame, it will take you to the next level! dusk and night shooting are great in Europe

That is a lot of gear, sort of overkill I think. I think 70-200 F4 + 16mm 2.8 could get the job done for 90% of the time.

Great content. Would you recommend the Canon R6 Mark 2 or the a7iv, fx3 for travel/ documentary vlog content? I love Canon colors. Also, what lens would you recommend

Thank you!!! First of all, I'm biased 🤣 I've shot with canon r6 and a7s3, and I prefer Canon colors 1000% and the focusing & user experience are much better as well. I'm not that familiar with newer cameras, but I believe technically, the a7iv is a better hybrid camera 🤪 You'll get more options when it comes to lens too. BuT i still prefer Canon colors 🤣

I totally skipped the fx3, but if that one is in your budget, that might be the best out of 3. Someone was just recommending it to me as a travel camera LOL but omg so expensive. Will have to look into stabilization, focusing type of functionality though

There are beautiful cities all over the world, but Venice is something very special and unique. It left a very strong impression on me. Thank you for sharing. I have a Canon R6. Looking forward to watch your future videos. I plan to travel to England and other European countries. My relation England told me not to bring R6 because of pick pocket and thieves. She said to bring a small APS-C camera and pack light. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I will let you know after my trip to Italy as I'm super worried about theft here too 😂 But I can tell you from my experience traveling in Spain & Portugal April last year that I never felt like R6 was at risk. One thing you can do to feel slightly safer is to use black tape to tape up the logos, but they might think our cameras are even more valuable than they are 😆 I always wore my camera bag in the front when there's a crowd, and never left it out of sight (on dining chairs, on the ground, etc). Use a backpack with zippers or something that makes it slightly harder to reach. I will update again after Italy :) But I wouldn't let thieves & pickpockets stop you!

Drone footage is cool but I don't think it is necessary at all. I've tried all the lens combinations while traveling, RF 16/35/50, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8.. and I kind of want to pickup a 24-105 f4 for light travel. I don't think the 1-stop difference is worth all the weight, especially when the R6 can handle higher ISO's with no issues.

the 70-200 f2.8 must be really nice😍 Just curious, do you shoot videos too? How high of an ISO are you comfortable using with the R6?

@@StephanieLin great point, I don't usually take videos with my R6 so I can't answer that, but for photos i'll regularly shoot up to 6400 with great results. I have a few ISO 25600 photos i've taken at Disneyland that look fantastic too. I actually decided to pickup the RF 70-200 2.8 after watching your video. Always liked to travel with my 70-200 but it was too big and heavy... can't wait to bring the RF on future trips.

what about simply ipad mini 6 with a mid ranged anker power pack and some usb cables. i bought insta go3 and wound up not using it. i also bought a body camera and wound up not using it. but my ipad min6 i plan on using due to long battery life and large screen built in and plenty other features. im not a pro filmer very noob at best. but can this setup somewhat work? also ipad mini with otterbox case is kind of durable and not alot of cables or other things i need to worry about. i do own a 30 dollar bluetooth lav mic that i never learned how to use it. but original speaker on my ipad seems to serve my purpose just using it to gather evidence on crimes. thoughts? is it sufficient? any ways better? i didnt luke insta go3 due to them make me store footage on their server instead of my own storage. then also short battery life was a hassle always concerned about that. and small screen is a pain. ipad mini 6 has large enough screen to be able to interact with footage captured on the spot. draw on it etc.

I don't think my opinion is that helpful if your preference is having a large screen and being able to interact with it! I prefer the flexibility of manual camera settings and choosing different lens for different scenarios. I'm not sure about the specs on the ipads nowadays but are iphone screens big enough for you? The cameras are really powerful now on the iphone 15 pro!
