Cool unit! Sounds like it's a fantastic platform for effect pedals/racks. In my opinion, the "*insert name of mystery acquisition*" definitely wins in the clean department, but the Mesa in the drive department.

Great piece. My quad is my most difficult amp to dial in. I’m interested is you have had the chance to try a Mesa d180, it’s a lot of fun.

My goal is to search the rack world for gear, both well known and obscure... That way we can make the least music with the most gear!

Good Job comparing the 2 amps. The mesa is a pre amp wear the pearce g1 is a head . I have 3 g1 combos and they 're really cool, But I have 2 mesa mark 3 and a mark 4. All cool stuff but a different beast in itself.
