Geez what carve on the neck, width, fret wire? All optional witch Warmoth. I wasn't sure if I would like the boat v neck 1" depth but its great. The CV tele Ive played for 12 years now is in for fret work but it allways felt a bit small to my (bass playin) hands, and now that I have this Warmorth I know it is. What clued me in was my Christmas purchase of a PRS SE DGT which has a somewhat beefy neck. I liked where this was going. I have got to sell some of these instruments. I have too many. I figure I can sell two and buy one. I thought I was bad with gear until I saw your wall of outboard gear. I hope you are operating a for profit recording studio.

I just bought my 4th Warmoth, used of course. 2 5string Jazz basses a 5 string Gecko bass and most recently a beautiful deep v boat neck cherry sunburst thinline tele with a super light alder body! Sweet! Thats a purdy tele you got yourself!

Nice guitar. I don't understand why people spend money on fancy guitars then cover them with ugly bits of plastic like a standard Fender set up.

So, you used a fake title with your thumbnail to get people to click. That's called CLICK BAIT. If your content is so bad that you have to resort to this then maybe you should be bagging groceries instead of lying on youtube

This was a one-off body that I found in the showroom a few years ago and before they made the limited run. That limited run was so tempting, such beautiful bodies!

I still have my MosValve. Took it apart to clean the pots. It did the trick. I have owned that power amp since '92. I have a Marshall 9005. I got it about 15 years ago. It needs some repairs. When I get it fixed I want to modify the presence circuit. I have been wanting the Synergy 50/50 and the Syn 2 system. I want to restore my rack setup. Someday....

I've been thinking about building another Warmoth lately, but it's been over ten years since my last Warmoth experience. The title, "Warmoth took my money...Again!", had me thinking that possibly you had been yanked around by the company. So glad to hear otherwise. You have a gorgeous example with your build, and from what I can tell, it is as gorgeous sonically as it is in its appearance. Even though you posted this two years ago, I just discovered it. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

I have just discovered your channel. This is so unique. I bet this is the biggest guitar amp collection in the world. And you have the technical knowledge to maintain all this vintage gear. Phenomenal.

I have a well used 1978 Gibson J45 Deluxe at home. The owner wants me to sell it for her. That thing is really great, it was used on hundred gigs and sessions…you can hear it. Somehow I dont want to sell it.

Great stuff. It confirms one thing for sure that there's still debate about (for some reason) - the power amp has a big impact on the overall tone of an amp or rig. The Synergy 5050 for example produces 4-5db less low end compared to the VHT 2150, and a little less high end. Pretty significant difference.

Saw you on Steven Cohen's show today and I had completely forgot you do judo! If you have time some time, would you make a video talking about the challenges of playing guitar/bass and doing judo? What are your personal experiences, have you messed up your hands, how did/do you manage and recover them, how do you prepare physically or mentally (taping, planning practice) for judo to minimize the effect and risks on playing a stringed instrument. Bjj seems to be very popular in the US and I assume they face somewhat similar challenges, less aggressive grip fighting standing though.

That would be an interesting video. My hands are pretty messed up having done it for as long as I have. Do you follow Ben Coombs? If you do, I will be on his live stream tonight.

If only there was a way to make the pots MIDI controllable & add 3 more tubes....... Hmm. But there are MIDI EQs for pre & post options & it does have an Effects Loop. Adding the extra 2ch for more gain.. That would be tastier,,,, for me. You know a guy Mike?

I definitely don’t have the technical ability to do this. Then again, I can’t afford an IRX…

Awesome video! Hey Mike, I have two quick power amp questions for the rack master. I have a Mesa Studio Preamp, what power amp do you recommend to go with it. I'm having trouble deciding between tube vs solid state. Also what is the best el34 based power amp in your opinion. Great to see you back!
@michaeltoren5 ай бұрын
Thanks!! The default answer would be Mesa 50/50 but I like a VHT/Fryette 2/50/2 better, and there is a version that supports EL34s but it was only made for one year. The 6L6 version is still a great match. The best EL34 based power amp is VHT Classic in my opinion. Surprisingly there are some great solid state power amps. The Lee Jackson SP1000 is a classic as well as the Tubeworks MosValve and the Marshall 8008 is a sleeper.

You could but it would be a ton more work. All of the pots and switches are mounted on a pc board. You would remove them and then wire them up to the board.
