I owned a 1977 Mercury Cougar. It was a sweet ride. I loved it back then. When i was going to a computer maintenance school at Keesler AFB, MS in 1980. Me and a friend were going to the mall in Gulfport. I was driving up Highway 90. This little Mustang pulls up beside me and wanted to race. When the light turned green I just accelerated normally. The little Mustang was banging through the gears and not that far ahead. At the next light I told my passenger, we are going for it. When the light turned green, I floored the gas. The rear squatted and we launched with no wheel spin. The 400 CID revved up and went through the gears of the automatic. We left that little Mustang in the dust! At the next light the little Mustang wanted to go again. Nothing to prove, I just accelerated normally. The little Mustang was going through the manual gears until the driver couldn't find 3rd gear. We could hear him grinding away as we passed him laughing our rears off! That isn't mine old car. Mine was a 2 door! Thanks for bring back that old memory!

Now maybe you should start a national campaign to require all Federal, State, County and City Dive Team training sites be required to be listed on all water way charts and a national chart be it paper or in digital form and is publicly available. Next all diver training targets must be brought up to a modern standard set forth by the EPA to protect the environment. Now there needs to be a national standard way of marking all underwater diver training aids, they need to be physically marked in a standardized way for any diver to know its a training aid/ This is just a ruff idea it's all yours let those wit the legal knowledge write up a far better proposal.

Ah i wondered if it was that Bad Ass car with no engine or gearbox and was polluting the river. We do need an update on what happened to it. I say Junk it properly Ah Yeahh. Always love the washing out video to see the crap blasted off and a colour underneath.

I dont care what they claimed it was used for but no longer used for this car had to come out..100% If they ever get another dive team going again they can put in a newer car with all the right ways and things..i hope they never put it back..

That Cougar looks to be a Brougham with a fair number of option. Quite an uncommon car now. Not exactly common when it was new.

Ya know because of the recent issues because it might take a few months / maybe a year maybe do a video of what it takes to certify a auto to be placed in the water. And maybe back in the day as compared to today and maybe start a fund to actually accomplish it as I'm guessing for OSHA they should be recertified every once in a while to help protect the protectors

Could this car hit somebody due to the damage on the windshield. Then dumped in the water. I have just seen on the local news where a guy had taken his car to get the windshield repaired because he had hit a tree. He had actually hit a child. The man was DUI and didn't know what he had hit.😢
