As ministers (Secretaries), mayors, Judges, Police chiefs and C.O's of the most important and high positions!! And no one ever mention that or spoke about it because simply its not a topic in Kuwait.

As an African American, I visited my friend in Kuwait for about 2 months and I loved it! I was able to "blend in" into Kuwaiti society, especially when hanging around Kuwaitis and wearing traditional attire (like a dishdasha). I remember going to a family eid gathering and people thought that I was a distant cousin. From my experience, I enjoyed Kuwait and I hope on returning in the near future.

I haven’t and hopefully don’t understand the black-white racism it’s just a skin color. In Kuwait there’s this kinda image that being black or dark skinned is companied with having a funny and lively personality other than that there’s none.

Darling skin color is not even an issue in Kuwait or any other gulf country. My dear neighbors on both sides are dark-skinned as it’s normal to blend in with them in marriage and make family. My friend and a number of my relatives married dark-skinned individuals and they’re great. As I LOVE ❤️ dark-skinned people. They have that charisma and special character to them. Also, my 11 year-old son already telling me that he’d like his future wife to be dark-skinned and I got thrilled. 🤩

Kuwaiti here, while yes we do have a lot of "Black Kuwaitis", neither them nor does our society see them as the same as African Americans or west Africans, but rather we just see them as Arabs with more Afrocentric features such as dark skin, larger lips, and flatter noses. Likewise there are also Arabs and Kuwaiti's who are near indistinguishable from Europeans, with light skin and hair. The point is, unlike other races or ethnicities, Arabs are not bound to there physical features, but rather our shared culture, language, and history.

Skin color really isn’t an issue in Kuwait considering we have people of all shades. Plus black guys in Kuwait are called the Arabic translation of ‘uncle,’ which to us is a term of endearment. This is not to say that SOME Kuwaiti’s think themselves to be more superior over other nationalities, but I’d like to believe that idea is dying out with time.
@curiouswanderer7187
@curiouswanderer7187 4 жыл бұрын
I think you're misinterpreting the Arabic word Khal, it doesn't mean Uncle but the word can be used to reference an Uncle. In this context it means someone who is black, not uncle. Yes blacks are known for their charisma, activeness and comedic traits but definitely considered as uncles.

Some Kuwaiti men are liberal and would be delighted to date you and marry you, as you're aware there are a lot of Kuwaiti's who are hybrids in a sense that they're half-Kuwaiti and half-(insert nationality). Kuwaiti's are becoming somewhat accepting of it, but overall the Man doesn't need his parent's approval if he's willing to marry you.
