Such a underrated car. My dad had the 2013 model and it was a beast. I’m pretty sure this the Mercedes that all the new high hp sedans were based off of.

The turbo lag in this car is super small, close to zero actually. There´s a normal throttle lag added if you smash the gas (not related to turbos), don´t do it, step it steady and not too fast, and it´ll catapult you. Or hold the breaks up to 3000 rpm and let go, or use race start... or at least start from Hold... but neve smash the gas from zero to 100% in 0.1seconds.

Turbo lag is def not an issue coming from first hand experience. The displacement of the motor itself combined with the smaller turbo of the two in the biturbo design mitigates that. The M157 is the best AMG motor ever put into a mercedes, hands down. Newer smaller motors are cute and make a lot of power, but the sound of an M157 cannot be beat and can also be modified to produce 800+ HP

the cls63amg will always have a special place in heart . The first car I owned was a 2007 cls63 with a muffler deleted . Dark blue on tan interior. I sold it to buy a 2012 cls63 Renntech stage 2 ecu tune , carbon fiber all around pushing 700hp .For your lag issue invest in a good tune or a Sprint booster .

on my previous cls I did not get a drone , on my 2012 I only have a resonator delete and it sounds amazing to me . some guys like chopping the mufflers too but laws are strict nowadays . you could probably pick up a cls for less than 40 grand Canadian. look for low kms. personally I would not buy a old Benz unless you have the means to afford repairs. otherwise go brand new with warranty if youre just going to finance

These are some terms you should learn; Tune not tuneup, they mean different things, turbo lag vs naturally aspirated. Stop flying through residential neighborhoods. he just got the car u sound like a hater bruh anybody who has this car drives it like that.. obv u cant relate tho. and yeah he obv dont know much about it but he has one so he has plenty of time to learn.... also a tip its not turbo lag the m157 engine has little to no turble lag however mercedes does have terrible PEDAL lag which can be annoying and effects races if u dont know how to use it,. something that helps with this is sprintbooster also a tune helps the throttle response but does not completelly remove the pedal lag

I'm wondering if the engines are as unreliable as people are saying online?? id appreciate any info u can throw my way brother i appreciate it as im considering buying an 06 cls for 63amg toss up between that and another 06 cls 55 amg both around 100k both around 15k lemme know whatchu think is this a problem waiting to happen or these cars pretty reliable as long as you keep up on maintainence? -pistol

You have to change the rotors and pads same time and yes it’s $6k plus at the dealer if you use oem but use the kit from racing brake it’s just as good and way cheaper total cost around $2200 for parts

got another useful tip for you. if you're on a budget and dont mind cheaping out a bit you can use front brake rotors from an e55/or w219 amg they will fit fine and potentially save you thousands of dollars the only cons is they are heavier and dont brake as good. however they are still decent brakes and get the job done. you should look into it ive seen a few peopole mention it on mbworld...

Every car will have turbo lag except a vehicle which has a third turbo i.e audi sq7 where the third turbo is actually an air compressor which spins the turbo without the use kf exhaust gases when the vehical is not moving thus decreasing the time for the turbo to spool up when accelerating

I wii be getting a tune from Renntech. I will have my transmission, and ECU tuned for now. So far I have the performance exhaust and intake. I'm now at 520 HP! The car is not just fast, it's ridiculously fast. 🤣😂🤣😂

@@patrickr8890 Yeah Bro..It is ridiculously fast. Already that car can keep up with GTRs, with a tune it will smoke GTRs and corvettes. I wanted to get a renntech tune because they are a trustworthy company and they usually have warranties. However, for the same price of a tune from renntech, you can go with ALpha performance (The guys that make the Alpha GTR tunes) . I havent seen them dyno their car and have it tested but renntech has for sure.

Making your car a convertible will probably kill its value x10 and will cost 5-10x a brake job. Just sayin. If you want power and a vert, buy a gen3/4 viper. Holds its value too. You can also just get the oil change at the dealer, its about 180 USD here, which isn't bad. I just do whats needed, forget paying 4-600 for them to wash your car and fuck it up, or "top of fluid".
