I love your car! I have a Wicked White 14’ Evo MR, all stock except for a catback exhaust currently. I’ll probably modify it more later in it’s life, when I’ve finished enjoying it stock(it’s great out of the box, unlike most STi’s 😉); I’ve always been an “OEM plus” type of mods guy. it’s cool to see the same car in previous generation form. They’d look awesome together in a photo shoot, or... my garage. 😀

Fortune Auto is the only brand as far as I know, who matches the shocks based on dyno result before shipping them out even for the budget ones. Other brands - including the reputable ones - don't do that for their budget line (I'm talking about coilovers under $3k).

I like your videos, but I'd prefer that before putting a video like this where it's segmented out you would consider making this a longer, but complete video in which you put the 510s on, and give your thoughts or something similar just to make the video feel like t didn't end half way through

Can you guys make a video on why FWD cars get hated on? What are the goods/ bads about them?
@ashtonaimes22996 жыл бұрын
MJ Wild I know this is a week old comment and I’m not Gears and Gasoline, but I think the main reason why most car people don’t like FWD cars is because they are generally slower, a RWD/AWD car will always be faster (everything being equal). Also you don’t get the fun tail-happiness of a RWD car or the brutal acceleration of an AWD car. I guess there is also the stigma against FWD cars due to the mutual agreement between all car guys that rice, which usually contains FWD cars (not the food, I’m Asian and love rice), and Prius are bad. The only good I can think of is that they are generally cheaper because they only have one driven axle, and they will be able to go through snow better than a RWD car, but they won’t be as good as an AWD car (but again it will be cheaper than an AWD car)
@marcj.d6 жыл бұрын
Ashton Aimes Thanks for the information. And I understand what you’re saying. Your information is on point. I’m thinking between the ‘18 WRX or the ‘18 SI. I can’t decide on which one. The WRX has AWD, which is good, but has the same engine for almost 15 years, I think, give or take. And the new SI is has LSD, limited slip-differential, which is good also. And a new turbo engine. That’s why I asked that question on why FWD is good/bad, kinda way.
@ashtonaimes22996 жыл бұрын
MJ Wild I personally (out of those two) would choose the WRX, but it’s not my car, so you choose what you want. Not choosing those two, I would go away from new and try and find something slightly older, for example the e9x m3 (which have depreciated from their MSRP of somewhere above $50,000 to below the ~$25,000 ‘18 WRX, which is why I love German cars, they depreciate like crazy, you can even find some 996 generation 911’s for around 25,000 as well, although everyone hates the 996 generation because of the headlights) which still has all the creature comforts and technology of new cars as they were made from 2007-2013 (I’m guessing that’s why you want new) and it has 4 seats, RWD fun (if you live in the north, this is completely useless, but I don’t know where you live), a 400hp v8, high rev limit, and the choice of a manual or automatic. Bonus M street cred as well. Also, CAE makes a shifter for the e9x cars, their shifters cost $1,000, but their shifters are the best use of a $1,000 for any car they make a shifter for. Just watch a video of it shifting, such a short throw and extremely precise.

MJ Wild the new wrx has a new engine, the sti still has the same 15 year old engine. So if the engine was your only concern then you should get the wrx and tune it to the likes of an sti
@marcj.d6 жыл бұрын
Malik Moon Ohh, okay. Thanks for the info. I want to get the WRX but it’s expensive. That’s why I’m debating whether to get the new SI or the WRX. I’m just gonna conclude myself to whatever car I get to have the lowest payments, then it’s done.

that last question should yield some interesting results for very little research. There is definitive data there. The first two questions are questions you would be asking based on statistical trends of actual data. What trends of data is up to you depending on how you want to craft your findings.
