Last week, I got the chance to visit FP Journe's boutique in Los Angeles. I have no previous history with the brand. Here's how it went and what I learnt.

Thank you for sharing. I personally also recommend the book F.P.Journe which you can order through the boutique. You learn a lot about Mr. Journe himself and his work through the book, this also help build the relation with the boutique as a side merit. Regards.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I had a similar one at the same boutique with “Jack” but didn’t take any photos or video because I was asked to refrain. Delighted that the london Boutique is to open soon…

It is a great company in the watch industry. Despite her relatively short life, which does not exceed 24 years. But it has become a cool, cool name that rivals giants like Breguet, Patek Philippe and Lang & sohne. She has produced masterpieces over these years. Watches are my eternal love. Thanks for this video

Don't go to the Geneva boutique. First thing you'll hear is "there is nothing for sale here" or "the watches don't have movements inside". One of the most unfriendly visits I had so far...

@@eugenejohnson7755 No. A year or so ago. There was zero intention of teaching me something or explaining the brand. It's basically "you probably know that we have nothing for sale and you probably know enough about the brand already". Not a good vibe. But friends who own FPJ watches say it's a great boutique so I guess I need one to be treated better.

What is so special about this watch other than being exclusive? Is it super accurate?

It's super complicated to develop, the handwork is really beautiful, and FP Journe has a legendary status now as making some of the most unique and intricate watches. That said, I don't believe any watch is worth tens of thousands of dollars, and that's just a premium you pay for the brand name.

Just out of interest, did they mention how much they were selling the Elegante for? Been looking to buy one for some time. Don't want to pay £35k for the cal.1210 40 on the grey market though haha

Unfortunately, I didn't ask them about the Elegante, but I think the price is around 30-35k at retail.

Thank you for this. But this whole building a relationship is load of shit. Its a watch. Now a sip of the water of life. Try the VC boutique. The one in new york. The service and everything about VC is amazing. None of the nonesense. I got a VC 4500v from them. Amazing place. saving for my perp in rose....

Yeah, but how do you deal with allocations when 50000 people want a watch, but only 1000 are produced each year? Also, I've visited the VC boutique in Manhattan, and inquired about the Overseas and 1921, and never heard from them again.

@@TheWatchOut lotto system. to deal with the numbers. Plus having a simple metric like having previously bought at least one watch from them. Its meritocratic. As opposed to what we have now. New York has a vibe. so do the people maybe thats what you got. Next time your about in the world try the other ones. I went to the Manhattan one. I actually even got coffee from them. I spent almost an hour there.
