What’s Life Like in Crimea Now? | Crossing the Bridge & Talking to the Locals

Күн бұрынBeing half-Russian, I decided to challenge myself and visit one of the most dangerous places on the Black Sea, the Crimean Peninsula. I met the locals as well as tourists and got their opinion regarding how safe it is to live in Crimea in the year 2023. With the recent developments in the peninsula regarding drone attacks and the multiple explosions on the Crimean bridge, I did ask them if they’re considering leaving the peninsula.
So I crossed the bridge to get answers to questions like; ‘What is life like in today’s Crimea?’, ‘What was the impact of sanctions on businesses and the daily lives of regular people?’, and ‘Do the people there really want their territory to be a part of Russia?’

I wish I had known you were coming to Crimea! I would have met you in Kerch and shown you around. I'm an Irishman, living in a village on the outskirts of Kerch and building a house with my Crimean wife. We finally sold everything in the UK and moved here last year. Keep up the great work! It's nice to eventually see some truth being shown about Crimea.

@@lolitavine9616 I first came to Crimea in 2005, and have been back and forwards ever since. I was married here in 2008. We always planned to build a house here, so conflict or not, we were not going to let things get in the way. Besides... I'm from N. Ireland (near Belfast), so have seen conflict almost all of my life. A friend of mine makes video's from Yalta about everyday life here. He's a lot better at video's than I would ever be. In 2014 I met a Crimean in Paris, who flew away before the referendum, because he was a military and scared about having to kill Russian citizens. I met also others and even 2 "mothers of Odessa" whose boys have been assassinated in the 2th of May 2014. at the Union's House. They told us some horrible facts : there were many young Crimeans who travelled to Kiev to see the Euromaidan, but asa they understood it was a fascist Coup, they drove back straight to Crimea. But sadly, on the road back to Crimea, there were fascist Azovists who stopped all the busses and cars and shot all the ones who cannot speak Ukrainian. And told the others : go and tell Crimeans that we are going and do the same throughout Crimea. It happened a few days before the referendum. I realized why 96% of Crimeans voted for the réintégration into Russia.

@@pravak6745 in 2006, UNO addressed a complain against Ukraine because this country segregrates Tatar. No response. No sanctions. In 2014, after the fascist coup in Kiev organized by CIA, the 20th of Februar 2014n there was a massacre committed by Kievian fascists and Pravy Sektor in Korsun-Shevtchenkovsky ( region of Tcherkassy, Ukraine), who burnt busses and Crimeans ( even old people and women) coming back home. This is why Republic of Crimea decided to become independant from Ukraine and organized the referendum following Art. 1 of UNO chart of International Pact ..of 1966. On the 17th March of 2014, Crimea was independant. with 96,77% ( participation 83,1%) and voted to rejoin Russia : there are 175 ethnic communities in Crimea : 65% Russians, 15% Ukr, 10% Tatars and others. The situation of Tatar worthened after 23 years of non soviet Ukrainian power. They became 2nd zone citizens. Only in 2014 they recovered dignity, rights, access to infrastructures...Schools in Tatar language of they want, as there are school in Ukr language and of course in Russian : 3 official languages. It seems European council forgot what he wroteitself in 3 cycles of rapports. But Ukr organized at this time a genocide by blocus : and shot 80% of electirical providing, 85% of drinkable water by canal,,deliver of natura gas,, of food, etc : that's a crime against Humanity and a genocide, but as it's piloted by USA, it's allowed by UNO. Stop trolling and stop to support fascsm !

ну как житель Сочи(сейчас переехал в СПб, но по прописке в Сочи ещё) говорю, что Крым неплох, но инфраструктура ужас(по крайней мере была в 2015), сейчас думаю получше, но Сочи не догнать, тк было слишком много в него денег влито на момент олимпиады, футбола и формулы 1, плюсом и до этого развивался город как главный туристический город страны, а Крым на 2015 как будто остался в 90х, никого не хотел обидеть, просто озвучил свое мнение и моя жизнь все таки лучше будет прожита в Сочи с шашлычком под коньячок

@@kiellaxpro364 инфраструктура инфраструктурой, но вот я как турист был и в Сочи и в Крыму, причем еще в украинском Крыму, когда там действительно было 90-е и в 2020 или 21-м последний раз был там, когда инфраструктуру очень сильно подняли. Так вот даже беря в расчет Крым какого-нибудь 2012 года, там было лучше, чем в Сочи и сейчас. На этой земле как то приятней находиться, как будто климат особенный, или маленький отдельный мирок на земле. Не зря начиная с открытия Крыма греками, за него много раз боролись разные страны. И кстати да, когда там находишься, понимаешь, сколько истории помнит эта земля, куча исторических памятников и древнегреческие города и какое-нибудь Ласточкино гнездо уже нашей постройки

Nice, and i like all the information you had on the bridge alone also. I have only been at the Black Sea once, in Bulgaria, and the biggest fish i got was about 5 centimeters.. lol Crimea look like a nice place and i hope the people there will be safe. 🙂

I love Crimea and I am planning a vacation there. BTW, Mostik no longer lives on the bridge. He got adopted by one of the staff that built the bridge and now works for Ria novosti. He has his own dedicated section there, an Instagram account and a lovely page in VK.

Стоило упомянуть , что взрыв моста на видео был вызван подрывом фуры , водитель даже не знал , что он везёт. Украинские террористы под британским контролем убили человека ради повреждений моста, который починили через несколько месяцев. Во время их следующей атаки британскими морскими дронами ,погибла семейная пара , их дочь выжила и теперь сирота , а мост снова починили

Посчастливилось покататься по Крыму уже дважды, в 2021 и в этом (2023) году. Чувствовали себя вполне безопасно, в этом году даже до Севастополя доехали (путешествуем на своём авто). Прекрасное место со своей эстетикой и культурой. Больше всего нравится, безусловно, природа. Ну, и то, что инфраструктуру обновляют потихоньку-помаленьку, это здорово! Надеюсь, Крым будет становиться только лучше и красивее. Главное, чтобы не становился таким же дорогим, как Сочи хDDD Единственная проблема для нас там была - стоимость топлива... А остальные цены вполне доступные, учитывая, что ночуем мы в машине либо в палатке :)

Никакой паники или обеспокоенности мы ни разу не встретили за оба посещения (первый раз всего 3 дня были, и нам было ну очень мало, но были другие планы - успеть за отпуск посетить еще Кавказ). В этом году отпуск выдался длиннее, так что мы пробыли в Крыму около 1,5 недели. Но всё равно было мало! )) Но к концу нашего там пребывания уже подпортилась погода на какое-то время, так что всё сложилось кстати - налетел холодный ветер как раз только в день, когда мы уезжали, такое вот совпадение ) В общем, Крым это то место, куда хочется возвращаться! Мб я бы даже жить там осталась, где-нибудь в Форосе х)

This guy kept on praising Russian culture even after the beginning of the war. He still got kicked out of Russia, despite his positive attitude towards Russia. Sasha is also showing only reality. No bias. She seems legit and totally not paid by Kremlin.

@@tonymontana1702 Troll, what differentiates a pessimist from an optimist? A pessimist is a well-informed optimist. She is paid by RT or by another Kremlin source in disguise. That's written all over her -- from posh garbs to quite extravagant trips to an experienced and skillful cameraman and editors. There is no way she could have afforded all of these expenses out of her pocket. She tries to whitewash Russian reality and distract attention from the main problem, pretending none exists. She is fully aware of the baseness she is into.

Я тоже в 2023 году ездил в Крым, на своей машине, да мне не страшно и да я поеду снова в Крым, там огромное количество различных красивых мест, там куча исторических мест. С детства, от мамы (и вроде еще от бабушки) Еще французский у Саши хороший. Есть видео, где Саша своего брата спрашивает, как ему учеба в России, есть ли языковые сложности. Ответил, что были, поскольку его литературному языку так же с детства учили, а сейчас много сленга у молодежи, не все понимает.
