Thanks Brett! I already have a Venom checker but I really like this one, even though I cannot use the Spektrum smart stuff. I have put one in my wish list here and on Amazon and will probably get one soon since I had planed to get another Venom any way! You da man!

I know a guy who just got his first smart phone from using nothing but old and cheap feature phones his last phone being a cheap flip phone. S8 Plus is no slouch and barely 2 years old, some people only upgrade every couple years.

Hi Brett, Would like to ask you 2 questions regarding the XBC100 Smart Battery Checker. 1.Is the cute sloping stand on which you place the Smart Battery Checker (on time 2:12) may be purchased from amainhobbies? 2.Does the XBC100 gives internal resistance data of the Lipo cells as well? Thank you.

Hey Gad. KZfaq flagged your comment for inappropriate language (don't see why) and we didn't see your comment until now. For the stand, it is not purchasable; it is my cell phone holder. For the IR, the XBC100 does not have that capability. -Brett

My Spectrum S155 did an upgrade to my Spectrum G2 2200 lipo after which it doesn't work correctly; it's now looking for a balance lead, nor does it show the individual cell voltages anymore, plus it won't auto start any more. So I assume the upgrade downgraded the software to an older version that needs the lead to function properly (or just nuked part of the G2 software). Do you think the balance function of this device will balance out the cells (assuming it has the G2 leads only plugged in). I know of no way to upgrade the battery software so perhaps this device will help me keep the cells balanced over time

When cell checking, the device uses the LiPo power to turn on (assuming the lipo has enough juice to power the unit). For servo checking, an additional battery needs to be connected. -Brett

Got one today. Included instruction "book" is useless. Regarding this video, . . . can't see the screen! Does not show how to check a NiMH or NiCd. Do I just connect one and see what happens? Device looks good, but available instructions really Suck!

You would want to connect your NiMH or NiCd to the IC3 port on the side, and you should see the overall battery voltage displayed. The device will not display individual cell voltages of those battery types though, as that pertains to Lithium cells only. Hope this helps. -Brett

How do you program your smart batteries when to discharge to save storage voltage?

In the XBC100, you can define how long the battery waits before initiating the auto storage function, and also define what voltage you want for the auto storage function. You can also do this programming within the Smart Chargers I believe. -Brett

It's displaying the cell voltages of each cell and shows a power % of the battery overall, plus tons of other things. If you need a cell checker, this is one of the best. -Brett

Hey Shea. This adapter has a female EC3 to a male XT60; so you can use XT60 batteries on EC3 devices. Hope this is what you're looking for; if not let me know, and we'll find the right one. Can I use the USB port to charge my umx radian 1s lipo batteries with the small charger that came with the plane?

I suppose you could if the USB provided enough power to satisfy the chargers requirements. You will need a fully charged LiPo to plug into the XBC100, to feed it the power to charge from the USB, but I think it can be done. Here is what Spektrum says: "Qualcomm 3.0 compatible USB power port with Quick Charge for compatible Android and IOS devices (up to 12v and 2 amps)" -Brett

Why would you change the connector on a smart battery? A smart battery has a smart connector that will directly connect to the XBC100 and provide battery data. -Brett

Yep it definitely is pretty much the only thing different is I don’t think it reads internal battery resistance and it has the servo testing option

Can it set Non smart batteries into storage voltage? I’ve been trying to find out before buying it. Downloaded the manual, but the information is very limited.

No. The programmable storage voltage is a function of the battery, not the cell checker. The cell checker is just the interface to interact with the battery programming. Only the Spektrum Smart Batteries have that function as far as i'm aware of. -Brett

No, the info wouldn't be saved if it could. You'll need to use your transmitter for the end points, and the transmitter will save these values in the future so it's always set. -Brett

I haven't been in this hobby for over 40 years. Wow things sure have changed with the radios and transmitters and receivers😵 With all the abbreviations I have to stop the video look it up on the internet and start the video again. I had gas, nitro and Cox motors All this electronic stuff with the receiver and a transmitter so programmable the learning curve is very extreme. PLEASE make videos for dummy nudes like me🤔😖

@@AMain_Hobbies I'm still trying to figure out how to adjust the gain value on a DX6E with a SPMAR637T receiver so I can fly my ASW28. It does not have a slider and it does not have. It has two three position switches one which I'm using for my flaps. Can you put a knob or a slider on a DX6E transmitter?
